Seeing DH slowly fade away

The worse part of visiting is leaving & driving 3 hours back to an empty house.

The worse part is also seeing the other veterans there that are farther along in their dementia journey knowing what's coming for my DH.

This weekly refreshed reminders of loss & grief are dragging me down.

    Has to be hard to leave can you ever stay overnight? Or maybe take him out and go to a nice Motel for a night of cuddling?

    My husband was in a VA facility. He passed August 12. We understand how you feel. It’s heartbreaking. We go for them. I hated going but there were wonderful moments that made me glad I went. Can someone go with you? My daughter usually went with me. Sending hugs for your strength.
