    Good morning,

Hope everyone is feeling better this morning. I say a prayer for you each day.

Today is "take the RV to the Shop" day. DH drives and I follow. The AC seems off and DH wants it checked. I'm trying to get us away for a few days around Thanksgiving. That depends upon DH finishing the fencing he has been working on. Hard to make any reservations until he can tell me it's OK.

Shopping with the Grands was fun. And exhausting. This weekend is the Great grand's birthday celebration, but it will be small. They just got home from Disney and that was her "birthday present". Of course, she's only 5 turning 6 so I doubt that will make sense to her so a little party is what we are doing. I got her a comfy Mermaid Tail to snuggle in on the couch, a pair of Juicy Couture pajamas (all in shades of pink), a Hello Kitty backpack/purse and a card with $ in it for more shopping. She is currently enamored with "The Miraculous Ladybug" so that is the party theme. And I am on the hunt for ladybug wrapping paper.

Haven't used the new stove yet since I had made a crockpot roast with enough for 2 days of meals. Making a quiche today. That's quick and easy. DH made his breakfast on the grill yesterday. I asked him why the grill and he replied "I'm not going to be the first to use that new stove!". lol

Well, time to get up and get going, Have the best day you can. ❤️

Later going to the dentist to my stitches removed from my broken tooth.

Morning. Sun isn't up yet but looks like it will be a pretty one. Hope everyone is feeling better today. Just heard that early voting in Okla. Begins Wednesday. Still have to get my ballot notarized and mailed. Enjoy your Monday.

    Good morning all.

Question - I was stung by a red wasp yesterday, between where your thumb is and the bend of your wrist. It hurt like the dickens. I was opening a garden umbrella and apparently they'd made a nest in there in the last 3 or 4 days. Probably 15 came swarming out. This one got me good, I slapped off another on my wrist, its just a minor sting. Oddly they went for my hair. It was quite the jumping dancing arm waving dance I performed getting away from them! So my question is this thing still hurts, from yesterday afternoon. Its red and swollen - you can't tell I even have a wrist. I've put cortisone on it. I'd just get to sleep and the itching would wake me. So, please give me some remedies?

I'm going to go spray all of the umbrella's now.

Back later to check on everyone. Be safe.

Eagle, take some Benadryl and moisten an aspiriǹ and put iT on the stings. If I get stung, and did, this summer, I take Benadryl immediately. You might also use an ice pack on it. The sting I had this summer was really bad and swelled and hurt. I went to the doctor, maybe for something else, but it was much better by then but still red and swollen. . Don't think he d anything for it.. Also use some Benadryl cream on it. Sorry that happened. Those stings are reàlly painful. The times I have been stung are when I closed or opened a pipe gate where they had made nests in the pipes and I upset them. You may have to go to the doctor uf it doesn't get better. Good luck, hope it improves.

Yellow mustard helps wasp stings. Just smear it on when you're stung

Very windy and hot day. Sustained winds of 30 mph with gusts to 40. Record high was ,88 and we hit 92. Kind of day that when you go outside you shift the air for smoke and scan the horizon. Winds will continue overnight and again tomorrow. So you can't really be comfortable. I opened a heavy pipe gate and the wind was so strong it blew it closed. It is so awfully dry. Cows are drinking a lit if water, emptied the big water tank and turned it over. Got it upright and am filling it now. It's made of heavy rubber and heavy. Alarm is going off so it must be filled.

    Sleep well tonight.

I dont blame you Carl. Yellow mustard interesting, now if i just can remember.

    Smart husband JeriLynn

Eagle last year i got into a yellow jacket nest. I didnt know what to do. Thought Im going to roll in grass. Thats what i did and i did get away from them. Hope you are feeling better by now.

Been windy here the past couple of days too Lorita but cool.

Had an interesting day. Neurologist said mom has multi vascular ???, cant remember rest yesterday. He said Im not saying she has vascular dementia but that it means she could develop it. He said testing is done as outpatient at baseline. Thats not happening and doesn't matter.

This is fourth day mom has not got out of bed. Yes she is getting weaker. She eats good though. she is very alert even with pain medicine. She cant raise either leg off of bed now. When I left this evening she was starting to c/o thigh pain. They are calling in a podiatrist and think they are rechecking for fracture. She said they may be ordering an MRI to make sure infection hasn't gone to bone. They are going to order PT&OT. That will be interesting. Doctor thinks may be some drama. Im not sure but know it is possible. Psychiatrist was in and she said today mom is competent to make her own medical decisions. She said if she can’t walk when discharged and refuses to go to LTC then that she will be incompetent and i can sign as POA. Im thankful my sister was insistent on psychiatrist being consulted. Case manager called me and said this is written by psychiatrist in chart. I gave her our choices for these facilities. They are all in a small town about a 15-20 minute drive for my sister and will be a 30-40 minute drive for me. Our first two choices are very nice my sister said. The last one not as nice. If we have to go with third choice then we will probably put her on waiting list for one of other two.

I got the generic version of Mucinex DM and it does work. Today was my last day on antibiotic and my first day going out in public--I went to the Senior center for a movie and sat by myself. I feel odd being outdoors after being indoors for 10 days.

Mint, does your mom wear compression hose?

HB, how is your mom doing now?

One of my sons was stung, about 40 years ago, and an old man who was working at the house said to use mustard. We smeared it on and it stopped the pain almost immediately. It's kind of like using vanilla extract on a burn. I don't know why they work, but they do.

Some of the volunteer fire departments are fighting as many as four grass fires per day here, and the fire chiefs are begging people to obey the burn bans, watch their smokes, and carry fire extinguishers on their tractors. It's a tinder box around here, and windy for this part of the country. If one of those fires reaches the woods, there will be Hell to pay.

My wife and I are making a point of driving by the cemetery on the hilltop every day. It's planted with red maple and a few other trees, and it is gorgeous this time of year. But the wind is blowing the leaves away, and it will all be gone very soon.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, for time is swiftly flying.

GOODMORNING, I'm waiting for my stepdaughter to come and help me with my shower and shampoo. I will be glad when my boot comes off so I can do it by myself. My shower is to small to put a shower chair in it.

Morning, still windy and was all night. Tomorrow will be cooler. GPs wanted out at MN and stayed out all night, in now and asleep. I need to get out in pastures to check grass but afraid to drive for fear of starting a fire so guess I will walk.

Guess I will go into town tomorrow morning to take care of voting. I think early voting begins in a Couple of days but you have to.go to election board office, I think.

Carl, remind me where you live, please. Almost our whole State is under a burn ban, at least the Eastern part.

Burn ban and high winds here too (Iowa). We are back in drought but are supposed to get rain tomorrow. Winds up to 45 mph predicted today. It is already windy.

Mint, I am sorry for what you are going through. You are a good daughter; you've taken good care of your mom.

Ron, I hope you are feeling better and that soon you can be out and about.

HB, you have been a rock for your mother. She is blessed to have you. I hope she is feeling better and getting settled at home.

Caro Lynne take care of yourself; I know this is a very difficult time.

Iris, I am so glad you are starting to feel better.

Lorita, be careful with those heavy gates. You are such a hard worker. But be sure to not hurt yourself.

Ladies, be careful with the Mucinex. Some or all of their preparations contain acetaminophen and long term use/too high of dosages are hard on the liver. I believe acetaminophen is the # 1 cause of liver failure. There are other preparations that contain phenylephrine, guafenisin and dextromethorphan (as in Mucinex) that don't contain acetaminophen.

I hired landscapers to remove the rock and landscape fabric and put down cedar mulch in the garden areas around and in front of the house. I have been working on my flower garden to be; it was a vegetable/fruit (canteloupe and strawberries etc) for the previous owners. The soil is clay. I've applied compost and worm castings and think that eventually the soil will be better. I ordered a 'Coral Sunset' peony, 'Banja Luka' tulips and some 'Stargazer' lilies. I have coneflower seeds from my old garden, plus 3 daylilies, plus wild flower, marigold and zinnia seeds. That's a start. I have many more ideas to make a nice albeit small flower bed.

Good morning. I finally slept all night, eight hours, after a prolonged coughing spell that including vomiting. I don't feel congested this morning. I'm going to the pet crematorium to pick up Simon's ashes today. I have a lot of things to do on my To Do list, but I still feel a bit sluggish after being in bed for about ten days. Well, onward and upward!

Beth, I am using the CVS brand of MucinexDM, which contains dextromethorphan and guaifenesin, but no acetaminophen. The honey really did not help at all.

Been a. Very windy and warm day. Some clouds.nearly clear now. There was a little green grass and wild violets in our north yard so I let the girls in to eat it. There was dried grass that had been mowed and I imagine they ate that, too.. Really big grass fire up around Tulsa, already burned about 3,000 acres. Will be so glad to get rain and cooler weather. Glad everyone is feeling a bit better. Iris, still sad about Simon.

Lorita, I live just outside Springfield, Missouri. We're having a drought and getting winds of 20-40 MPH. North of me is farmland, former prairie. South is the Mark Twain National Forest, which contains a billion tons of fuel for a forest fire. We've had one little rain in a month, about enough to settle the dust on the gravel roads. I'm very ready for autumn weather and rain.

Iris, so glad you're feeling better.

My doctor said to take honey when I had a bad cough a couple of years ago. Plus about four prescription meds. The honey doesn't do anything for congestion, but it helped the cough.
