The squall line passed a little while ago and my generator is running. Trees are blocking roads and there are widespread power outages. I planned to run some errands this morning but with streets blocked and traffic signals out, I'm staying home. My 15' spruce tree is leaning at a 30 degree angle after the wind and wet soil. I don't know how strong the wind was, but some people have lost barn roofs. Hope the rest of you are having a prettier Spring day than I am.

HB, yes cymbalta is what have me taking. I tablet as they wean me off the duloxetine and then 2 tablets.

I went to Missouri a few months after Lou died and loved it. If I decide to move, I will revisit where I can look at the cabins and decide where I want it on there land.

Talking about the weather; my DIL just sent me a picture of them at work and one my granddaughter sent with her and cats all cuddled up in her bathroom. DIL Said they could feel the building shaking, but everyone is OK. Maybe another reason not to move!

OMG I was off a couple of days and am still catching up with all the posts!

Lorita, I got to the one about walking the GP's and thought a leash like this would help you instead of holding two leashes. I'm going to get one for my two doggies because they are always getting tangled around each other any my ankles when I walk them.

Back to reading ! Back later. xo

The wind gusts ranged from 60 - 90 mph and the streets are full of downed trees and power lines. The city has asked us to stay off the streets. This is a good day to catch up on the magazines that piled up while DW was so ill. I hope they have electricity where she is and where DS is. There is still none in my subdivision.

I'll be back later, mostly I'm just testing to see if this posts.

The latest site weirdness is that I'll see notifications, but if I click on them I get a message that says "something went wrong, try again later" (or words to that effect). If I go directly to the thread, I can get in. Hmmm. Not ideal.

I'm editing this post to add the screenshot. Yet, somehow I can still post - for now.

Hi again. We had sun for a few minutes , just enough to warm it up a little and make the atmosphere more unstable. No damage that I can see but there is damage around a couple .of places northeast of Tulsa.

Carl, good decision for you to stay home and be safe.Glad I went to town yesterday.

GG, that leash might work. I have a plastic one you hook both leashes into but it doesn't work too well. Thanks, I will check

I went to the mailbox and road is muddy and semi flooded but LaDonna, our carrier, got through.

Gave Billy his feed and hay, came in and looked for my phone, everywhere I thought. I checked the car, all over the house and decided I may have lost it in the barn. Sandy, I was on the verge of asking you to call so I might find it. Hadn't used it since 7:30 this morning. Finally checked my.purse and there it was! I need a keeper!!

Earlier I spent time looking for a wire cutter so emptied two kitchen drawers and found three. One won't open. So was able to cut the wires on a bale of hay instead of twisting it with a hay hook. Found a fencing tool but guess it was the one Charles used, mine is a little smaller. Now, where do I put all that stuff from those drawers?

Just heard thunder so guess rain will be here soon. We had almost 3/4ths inch last night. This makes 6.25" At least all the ponds and lakes are full.

Ron, Missouri is a beautiful State, sort of like NW Arkansas. Would be a change for you but maybe to the better. Think about it and sleep on it before you make the final decision. Our bathroom is in the middle of the house and that's where three cats, two GPs and I go when it's really bad, too. No way would I ever be able to get all of us in the cellar. Getting really dsrk. I know the girls would like to be in the barn with Billy. He is really big when you stand next to him, just like his dad and grandpa. Going to check the radsr. Back later.

Gothic G— I should make that image my avatar.

I'm sorry for all of you dealing with extreme and dangerous weather. Carl, I hope your tree can be saved. I lost a tall blue spruce to a storm once and still miss it.

My appointment with the hand surgeon was good. I really liked her. And she didn't make me feel foolish for coming in. One of the tendons in my wrist is jacked up— could be some combination of arthritis, trauma from a fall, over-use and or bad juju. There appears to be some "fraying", so I'm in a brace 24/7 for a month.

I left there to take mom for her pulmo's follow-up to the post-hospitalization follow-up. They were running an hour late which sucked. There were some very sick and cranky people waiting and also some real characters. One lady went up to the desk to co mplain 3 times in 30 minutes and kept trying to egg me on to do the same. The poor folks at the desk. One woman came in wearing jeans and the sort of tee you might wear to work around the house -and- a purple fascinator hat with yellow flowers and a Russian tulle net veil. I'm trying to imagine the thought process behind that choice.

I thought I'd seen it all by that point when in walked a gentleman in chinos and an L.L.Bean plaid shirt with long crazy hair. Think standing on end as if he was touching a Vandegraaff generator. LOL, mom said he looked familiar, he did. I told her he looked like her husband. She denied it. I pointed out the similarities in the shame of his eyes, brows, nose and set of his mouth. I convinced her. When it was his turn to check in, the reception teased him about making lots of money. Eavesdropping it turned out he's an Einstein impersonator which is a pretty niche jig. I googled him and found a TV commercial he'd done recently.

We finally got in to see the doc who agrees that she's doing better than expected and at her summer 2024 baseline. I dropped her off and met with the OT to get fitted for my new brace. So far I kind of hate it.

HB, to me it is awful the way some.people dress to go to see the doctor and even just to town.. I grew up in the era you put on your best clothes with hose and sometimes even gloves to go to town. Now it's jeans with.holes in them - like we might have worn to pick cotton but then there would have been patches over the holes.

I still dress like I did when growing up, just the way I was raised to dress.. Now I might wear jeans to the feed store or vet's office but not with holes in them. Our vet says people even come in wearing pajamas. Sign of the times??

Glad you found out about your hand but sorry about having to wear the brace for a month. Hope it gets better soon.

    Getting darker and darker.

The utility says it may be several days before everyone has electricity again. Lots of trees and power poles were broken and some substations were damaged. My power is on and I have no damage other than to an ornamental tree. I probably should replace that blue spruce with something native to this part of the country. It has been trying to die as long as I've had it. It's beautiful, but I spend hundreds per year on it.

Another rainy night ahead, and more rain tomorrow. Sleep tight, friends.

Carp, sorry about your tree.I love trees and hate to lose one, like my big elm I.had to have taken out last summer. It had died and was huge so wss afraid the wind might blow it down and crush the house, and me.

Are a !ot of trees dying In Your area? We have lost several.for no reason. Darwin has over 800 acres and thousands of trees and so many are dying and just not on his place, everywhere around here. The here is one.big grove along the road.north.of me and half of them have died. Hate to.lose a tree. My favorite tree is Hackberry and we have a lot of them.

Judith, I just heard the news story about what happened, I think last night, in NW Oklahoma City. Hard to believe that is happening.

I saw Billy, the Bull, grazing just before dark. He had been in the barn all day. I fed him sweet feed and gave him hay and he stayed out of the rain.

Good night, everyone. Sleep tight and stay safe from the storms.

Goodness, it was work to find you guys! I don't know what is going on with the site, but I can't click on any discussion and get it. I have to type in the title.

Been watching the weather and praying for safety for everyone.

HB, it's good news that your Mom is at baseline. Sorry about the brace, but hope it helps.

Speck is hobbling around a bit. Her left leg is weaker than the right (the one that had the infection). I'm a little baffled but I'll take whatever improvement we get. I took her over to the chicken run yesterday where her friends were outside pecking around. They all came over to the fence to greet her. She made soft cooing sounds so I know they were communicating. Hoochie the Rooster was at the fence doing his little happy dance where he marches in place and clucks.

We have 2 more geese families on the pond. So, let's see that makes a family of 3 babies, another with 5 and one family of 4 babies. I worry for them crossing the road with all the traffic to the strawberry farm. Our road is so busy during strawberry season. So far, so good. AND, the hummingbirds are here!

We got all those plants in the ground. Now to put in the bulbs and find a new patio rug. The berm patch has been seeded with wildflowers. After this round of storms today and tomorrow, we'll see about getting tomato plants set.

Everyone stay safe today. I'm thinking of you.

Good morning all. We've had rain off and on during the night. It's still raining, very lightly though. We need to moisture.

I've been thinking about that woman Carl. I think she was just doing a nice gesture by paying for your meal. Let's hope that's what it was, and nothing more.

For those of you having issues posting, or whatever, you need to send n email to [email protected] and let them know.

Back later, I'm moving slow and I don't think I need to be on Zoom in my jammies!! Let's be safe everyone.

😟 pulmonary will not clear me for surgery said I was high risk for pulmonary complications. Nurse told me that she would see about getting me into the pain management clinic.

Son told me when they got home last night the tornado didn't hurt them, only a few limbs down. DIL sent me pictures of damage around Springfield she took on the way home.

Two tornado warnings used just śouth of us. One included the town where I go and about six moles east. But they just dropped that one . It started raining about 10 and is pouring. I saw our girls this morning about half a mile east. Fed the.birds just before the rain began but they must be trying to stay out of the rain. Rusty was sitting on the porch railing eating sunflower seeds. I know a lot of them fall on the ground in front of the porch so maybe they will come iup. They are black oil sunflower seeds.

Ron, hope you do get into pain management. They should help a lot. Glad there wss minimal damage at your sons.

JetiLynn, how sweet that must be to see all those little babies. I haven't seen any here. Glad Speck got to see her family. Bet she missed them and was glad to talk to them. Everyone be careful out there.

Zetta, glad to see your post. !ots going on.For all of you all.

Our phones went off for the tornado warning and weatherman is showing the tornado areas. Sirens are going off in Stigler right now and it's showing the tornado. They think it will pass the town. I hear so many names of towns I have never heard of. There are two storm chasers on this line of storms very close to the tornado areas. The storm chasers are something else. One just spotted a tornado on the ground. Two meteorologist are in the Tulsa station keeping us informed. The line.of storms begins around Tulsa and extends to the Texas State Line. Correction - there are three storm chasers watching for rotation.

Heard last might that Skiatook Lake is above normal for the first time since 2022. Von just spotted a tornado on the ground almost in front of him. It rises, then gets back on the ground, still around Stigler. Back later.

Rain finally stopped and storms have moved into Arkansas. We had a little over::2.5" of rain which makes it over 9" of rain this past week. I went out to feed Billy and he was waiting for me just inside the hallway door. Took feeding him once or twice to make.him look for his feed. So glad I got feed for him. Wasn't going to but Darwin said probably didn't need to.but Billy would really like it.

I was just going to check on you Lorita. Our rain is just stopping also. We had about the same amount today, but total for the week is 5". Glad your save and sound.

I hope everyone else has a calm noneventful weather night.

Time to get dinner together. DH has requested beef enchiladas. That's not too difficult and I'll toss a salad, easy peasy.

    Be safe everyone.

Thinking positive thoughts for everyone in the path of severe weather. I hope it all passes you by.

HB - I had much the same thought about using that image as an avatar. Actually, I wouldn't do that here, but I might on some other site.

I'm sorry your hand has to be in a brace for a month! That's going to be difficult.

Great story about the Einstein impersonator!!

Lorita - I hope the tornadoes and other severe weather passes you by.

I won't lie, I don't dress up when I go out to run errands, but I'm not a mess either. Nothing I wear outside has holes, or is disreputable in any way - but most of what I wear is "casual."

I've seen people out in pajamas. Call me old-fashioned, but I'd never go out in public in pajamas. It's a hard no.

Carl - I'm glad you have power as of your last post — I hope you still have power.

JeriLynn - It's been hard for me to get into this site as well. I still can't get in by clicking on the notifications. I have to go to the actual thread and click on that. It's annoying.

I'm so happy to hear about Speck. I like that all of her friends came to greet her.

Hi Zetta — I hope you're well and that yoga is going well. Thinking of you.

Ron - I'm glad your sons are okay. I hope you get into the pain management clinic. Fingers crossed.

Today I was at the gym working out with my substitute trainer (who's great), and then I turned around and there was my regular trainer stopping by for a cameo! He's been out all of this month after having surgery on his hamstrings. Two of the three on one leg were destructed, leaving him with only one. Then he injured that one …. now, post-surgery, he's recovering and wearing one of those 24/7 braces on his leg. He's not sure when it comes off, but it's there for at least two more weeks. It was nice to see him - and then he made me do 40 sit-ups "for old times sake." Oh those trainers. 😄

When I read the news this morning I saw this article - The experts: neurologists on 17 simple ways to look after your brain

Most of the things in that article are things we know, but there's always room to improve.

Thanks, Eagle, things are okay here. I had the car and pickup almost in the carport side by side and a.big limb fell between then, not touching either one. I think I mentioned we've had 9,almost 10 inches and there will be more in thes morning. The average rainfall for the entire State has broken the record of 8.2" set in 1942. Wish we could have saved some of this til mid summer when we will be praying for rain.

Ron, are you okay? The storms that went through south.of us made it to Shreveport our weatherman said. Hope all is well. Carl did you get rain
