I am fine this morning after 2 more Tylenol. My shot was yesterday early morning. Felt fine all day. It did not hit until the middle of the night. No complaints. I would rather feel a bit sub par than in the hospital or dead.

Please read instructions for your electric blanket. Mine say nothing on top and no pins or tucking in.

I think I may return it. If I geT it out of that pkg. It will never get back in it. I have an electric throw that would cover me if need be but the quilt and fluffy throw have worked for ten plus years. I did look for "real"electric blankets in WM, none to be found.

Many years ago I had a poodle who slept on the bed with me, on an electric blanket. I had to make him a pair of panties because the blanket was doing a job on his boy parts.

How do you like your haircut? I cut about that much off mine the other day. Hard to do by yourself.

You took two or three shots yesterday. Do you think that had something to do with not feeling well? I don't remember if my shot last year bothered me. Need to look it up in my journal. W

I have a question about protein powder. About a month ago I started drinking Boost which has 20g. Of protein. Six bottles for about $12 and I have to order it. I bought a huge cannister of organic, plant based chocolate protein powder to see if I liked it.

Just made a smoothie of 1/3banana, big spoonful of yogurt, 10 oz. Of almond milk and a scoop of protein powder. Tasted it, then added three ice cubes and a tsp. Of sugar. Very good but has sort of a powdery taste. Is this the way protein powder tastes? I have heard you have to get used to it. Also has fiber and other good things. Do any if you use protein powder and do you like iit?

My mistake- thought you got RSV and shingles. I checked and only had a sore arm from the shot last year. Did put ice on it when I got home. You are so right- better to not feel well for a little while than the alternative.

I use Whey Protein (chocolate) from Trader Joe's. I blend it with skimmed milk and not aware of a powder taste. It is milk based.

Back to the goats…are you going to make cheese or just enjoy them.

Ron…you chair on the porch has been asking about you.

Turned off the heat…may need to turn on the AC upstairs tonight.

I read that people who make up their beds in the morning are 200 time more likely to be mllionairs. Probably too late for me.

My flag is displayed 24/7/365 and yes, it is lit up at night so I am not breaking any rules. I only need to replace about every 5 years. I order from USAFlagCo. It is veteran owned.

Doing ok here. Been busy with crocheting. My life is sorta boring to share but I do read here every day and so enjoy the pictures, stories and life that you all are kind enough to share.

Been busy with plans for my Mother's 100th birthday party which will be the week before Thanksgiving. Being a party planner is not something I really enjoy but this is special. Expecting about 120 people!

Wishing all better days and better health. Hugs

Good afternoon all. What a specular day we are having here. I am only inside now because I'm getting DH's lunch.

Lorita, oh those Sooners. They are really awful. Do you think its the coach or the team? He used to be a fantastic offensive line coach, but as a head coach he's not done so much. At least this afternoon we've got our Chief's to cheer on.

David you seem excited about moving up on the list. I might have missed it, but how does your wife feel about your move? I'm sorry about your ankle, ugh.

Ron we need to hear from you.

HB you need to make sure your taking care of yourself also. You are juggling lots of plates and you don't want to get rundown (too much). I know your mom is on your mind constantly, give her a hug from her porch friends.

    Be safe everyone.

I keep the flag up all the time except when it's very windy and even with that a flag only lasts a few months. It's lit from the security light.

Never learned to knit or crochet. My MIL did beautiful work but wss never here long enough to teach me.

Marie, 100 years! How wonderful. Bet it will be a wonderful celebration.

Eagle, didn't see the OU game yesterday. What in the world is wrong with them. Which QB did they use? Last week I kept telling at them to put Arnold in but they didn't. It may be the coach and QB combined. Watching a little of Lions and Vikings but will watch the Chiefs after this goes off.

Beautiful day here, too. Not much wind but the flag is flying. Girls keep hearing trucks and they think they're going to be fed so are upset. We had them on a schedule but lately the guys who feed don't so much.

Coyotes and wolves have been very near and vocal the last few nights. GPs are staying out some at night. Went out at 5 to let them in and coyotes were really howling and the GPs were loud, too. Just fed them and now they're asleep resting up for tonight. Coyotes know they can't get out of the yard so their barking doesn't scare them off too far.

Judith, do you ever.put spinach.in your protein drink?

    Good afternoon-

    Mom Update for those following.

They're planning to discharge her home tomorrow noting my disagreement with the plan. She was last assessed by the PT who recommended home health and home PT on Wednesday and hasn't laid eyes on her since. He was "assuming further progress" which, IMO, has not happened.

They started to wean her down to 40mg prednisone in tablet form today. They also took her off O2. They assisted her to the bedside commode— a mere pivot— during which her O2 dropped into the 80s. She's back on 2 liters O2 and they've increased her nebulizer treatments to every 4 hours when awake.

I spoke with the pulmo consultant about my concerns. I reiterated that they have not allowed her to walk in 8 days and cannot expect her to suddenly ambulate around her house while managing her own ADLs. He said she'll have "home health"— I told him I didn't expect a 30-minute visit from a nurse every couple days, at some time that isn't necessarily convenient for me or mom, would butter the biscuit for me. He was kind of surprised she's being discharged tomorrow. We'll see what happens between now and then.

I am trying very hard not to upset mom or piss off anyone making decisions on her behalf.

I am not a happy camper tonight.

    HB

HB, you can appeal the discharge and the discharge plan with whatever insurance coverage your Mom has. Best wishes to you. I'll be channeling my inner Care Manager on your behalf.

Sorry this is happening about the discharge. With Sarah seemed it was like that, too. Hope it turns out okay.

Kept hearing a cow bawl so after a while checked and it was Daisy calling her baby, looking toward where the other herd was. They were down by the corral this morning so was afraid Daisy's baby had gotten through to them. Went out to check but had to air up two Gator tires. Got that done and through the gate.

Some girls were still in the barn so walked through to see if I could see her baby. He's black, White faced. Saw the other little white faced girl. Found Daisy and her baby just outside the north corral. He was having a snack. Thank goodness.

Of course walking back through the barn, cut my foot. This is what my sister said grandpa would call it when she stepped in a fresh "pile'. If there is one within ten feet I seem to step in it.

Had to get the Gator back through the gate and let the aur out iof the air compressor. I got really hot out there - it is 79 degrees!!

Watching an interview now but will get back io the Chiefs when it is over.

Eaglemom, My wife like me agree it's a hard decision but the Correct decision. I know that it will be hard "saying goodbye ":even now i tear up just thinking of it. But It's getting hard for her to take care of me up until today I could use the Senior Center van for transporting me any where I wanted to go in the city, but because of my broken ankle I can't climb into the van so she has to take. She is willing to take me anywhere (within reason) but sometimes l guilty asking me to take me places.

When I hear more about my move (sometime in November) I will let you know

David don't feel guilty asking her to take you somewhere. If she can't take you immediately, I'm sure she'll give you a time she can take you. My DH is famous for 'needing' something the second that I'm busy doing something. But he always understands when I ask him if it can wait a few minutes until I'm done doing whatever it is I'm doing.

loveskitties those are beautiful. Thanks for showing them.

HB oh my. Your mom is very fortunate to have you for her advocate. Sometimes our healthcare system just makes me shake my head in disbelief. This would be another case for shaking my head.

Sorry I haven't posted, felt bad all week. Finally went to ER after 102.4 temp, coughing up blood, low oxygen and high heart rate. Scattered pneumonia in both lungs. Starting fourth day here.
