Therapist or counsellor

Hi there, my wife’s mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. She is understandably finding it emotionally tough. Could anyone recommend a therapist who specialises in this (for my wife)? Many thanks in advance

    Hi jcooper - Hello and welcome. sorry, not familiar with a particular specialty. You could probably check credentials on websites.

    not many therapists specialize in dementia. You might try the toll free number listed at the top of this website. There used to be listings for online support groups. I found that this forum was the best place to get info and support. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found this group. I highly encourage your wife to register and post here. Order her the book “The 36 Hour Day” which helped me after my husband’s diagnosis.
