Equipment for dementia or ALZ patients

Dad is a fall risk due to frequent UTI issues. Having ALZ adds to the difficulty.

We have part-time caregivers and my sister and I are there often but there are times he is alone and is generally ok. When he suddenly get a UTI he falls and is weak.

We have went through a few devices with fall detection to no avail:

*Guardian

*Apple Watch

*Kanega Watch

We were hoping to find a device with reliable fall detection as well as an app or a service that will notify us for all fall alerts or any alert! For example, Guardian had on his "file" or "account" that dad is an ALZ patient and will tell you everytime he is "fine" even if he is laying on the floor. Furthermore, the account had on there to contact the kids for all alerts so we can check on him.

One fall was detected, they called him, he said everything is "fine" and they reset the device. No one notified us. He was on the floor for 3 hours. He forgot there was a button on the device to call us but with ALZ, you know that is expected.

did the company call him or contact him on the device? If on the device, See if the company can replace the device phone number with one of yours or your sibling. I don’t know of any devices that would automatically send help if the wearer falls. Also, I don’t think someone with dementia and a fall risk should be left alone anat any time. If something happened like a fire he wouldn’t know what to do. I would either hire help or consider memory care.
