Good Evening All,
9pm and its 82 degrees here in Western Colorado. Ready for some of that cooler weather GG is having.
Lorita - I love your stories of Billy and the girls. My DW grew up on a farm and I often share your stories with her and it brings back many lovely childhood memories for her. TY
eaglemom - Christmas lights in August is ridiculous - while I would book for some better date that works for you; it sounds to me like they are a business in need of some early cash flow.
Iris - when you see the bunny tooth - of course there is Bucky. TY for the great picture vacation, I am pretty sure you cruised by my grandparents' retirement home on Vancouver Island. Sadly, not in the family anymore but such a beautiful area.

Good morning.
Lorita— Fingers crossed for a coupon code sooner rather than later.
I agree with Judith; your receipt was likely emailed to you if you bought online. If you used a credit card, you might be able to track it down using the transaction number on your statement.
I wonder if you should stay away from Vizio as a brand. They have a reputation for having service issues and lousy customer support. FWIW, Wirecutter is strong on TCL as a good value TV.Lady Z— It's great that you're getting the full-service move. DH and I both hate moving, so her hired a full-service mover with packing when we got our first house. I did the unpacking. DH was still a smoker back then I remember unwrapping and ashtray that still had butts in it. Gross.
Eve— I'm glad your DH has one adult child who cares enough to be engaged and mature enough not to be in denial or make it all about them. Do you think the son might be able to move his sister's heart & mind or is she a lost cause?
Mint— Putting up tomatoes is something of an ordeal. It's worth it if you have the time and assistance— they can be so much better and less expensive. Your cake looks yummy, btw. Mom has that exact pie plate.
Gothic G— I, too, had the Lumberjack Song swirling in my head looking at those pictures.
Tigersmom— The cake looks great. It's funny you mention Pierre Franey; his chili recipe popped up on NYT Cooking this morning. You can't go wrong with a 5-star recipe.
Eaglemom— I feel you on the cough thing. My mom has COPD and asthma— her baseline cough is fairly alarming. It's like it takes over her entire body. A few times when we've found ourselves in the ED for something else (UTI, fall, minor fracture), the professionals seem shocked that I am not reacting with alarm to it. A few have even asked and I've though, you should hear her when she's sick.
The Christmas light signs have gone up in the last couple of weeks. A few of these places are even offering Halloween decorating as a sideline. It's 3 months to Thanksgiving, I can see scheduling a date but it's too early for that nonsense.
A few of the area builders and roofers have integrated Christmas lights offered as an upgrade. Some people get really into different colors for the various holidays.
Iris— The last day of a great vacation always has a bittersweet feel, but especially on a cruise. The latest towel creature looked to me like someone doing yoga.
Goodlife— I hope you get some cooling off soon._____________________________________________________________________________
I was supposed to go to the dairy store yesterday, but I called mom as I was driving, and she told me that her new gate passes were delivered so I went there instead. We were able to drop it off with her pharmacist we don't need to worry about her activating the gate. The gate situation is a PITA— sometimes the gate doesn't work well and often the delivery person ignores my instruction on which entrance they need to use and go to the gate that doesn't have a callbox. But mom is the bigger obstacle— she'd need to hear her phone ring (she doesn't always have her hearing aids in if she's home alone), answer it in time (she doesn't usually have it on her despite my pleas), hear the prompts and follow them in time (tremor).
After, we did a mosey around Marshall's as I was looking for shampoo. While we were there, she got a call from the health system about her participating in an online study around cognition in older people. She's been concerned about her memory and word-finding issues of late, so she was interested. I did ask the scheduler who mom popped up on their radar; he said they're contacting people >65 with a PCP in their system. I wonder if her PCP flagged her for some reason. They're supposed to send a consent email and then she'll do the interview on Tuesday. Next week is filling up— she has eye injections on Monday, the interview and then I see hematology on Wednesday finally. I was a bit annoyed about having to go through a new patient coordinator instead of doing an online appointment scheduling ticket initially. But the phone in-take was almost 20 minutes of questions which makes sense now.
Time for my crossword. It looks tricky.

Morning, good luck on your buying spree. I.would like to have a washer with an agitator and control of water level. The tech who worked on my washer says there are very few of them. Iris, your cabin hi s besutiful. A person could lice there if you had a stove or.NuWave oven. The towel animals are something else. Did he show you how to make them?
Waiting for my grocery delivery. Stormy knows something is up keeps going to the window to bark and check it out. Really nice outside now. Supposed to.be about 90 today - hot but much better than it has been. Back later.

good morning
Yes Judith, that is the plan

Good morning………
DH might be coughing, but he has a smile on his face. I made him homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. There is nothing wrong with his appetite!
Its already sultry outside. High 90's heat index 110 today and an air quality alert. Yes, we're staying in, not that there is any place I want or need to go.
I'm sorry you put a scratch on your car Lorita. As for a washer, look at Speed Queen. They do both things your wanting.
Iris we've personally loved being on your trip. Great pictures. Where are we going next? (After you've rested up, of course.)
Enjoy you Saturday everyone. I've got a football game to watch! Back later. Let's be safe everyone.

Goodness it’s almost noon!
Been up since 3. Got the RV loaded for a quick trip to Fall Creek on Monday.
Sorted goats into different groups and pastures. Makes it easier for grandson to feed.75 degrees and a soft drizzle of rain, which we need.
About to bake a great grandson a birthday cake. Laundry’s done, house is clean and I have leftover chicken casserole and lasagna for dinner. I’m gonna be a couch potato for the rest of the day!!
Stay safe and have a good day everyone.

HB - my husband’s daughter is a lost cause and has been for over 15 years. In 2010 my husband was in a car accident, broke his back in 3 places and lost the use of his right foot. His daughter couldn’t be bothered to send a card, call, or visit. My husband has tried over the years to re-establish a relationship to no avail. Very grateful for my stepson and his wife and kids.

Bryom called. He plans to come midweek when his cousin can come and help. I didn't call when it was so hot because he works outside all the time. His son had a wreck in his PU.and fractured a couple of bones n his neck. He wore a brace for a while and stayed in bed but last doctor's visit wasn't good. Brace is gone but no work He had planned to he!p Bryon this summer. He bought a new PU for his son and a month after the transmission went out. I'm. Not the only one having problems.
Eagle, will the coo!er weather get down to you? We have a North breeze today and it's coo!er each day. Looking forward to seventies next week. Which teams are playing that you will watch?
Cooking squash and onions and have brown beans in the slow cooker. Got an extra loaf of chocolate marbled brioche this morning so will take it over to Darwin and Donna when I.go to the mailbox. It is delicious.
JeriLynn, do you have any new kids? I think they are so cute. My cousin used to call calves, baby cows. Thought that wss so funny. She had never been around cattle. Last evening when I was looking for Billy there were four or five little calves, 3-4 months old, by themselves on the wrong side of a cross fence from their moms. Guess it was supper time so the moms came part way and called them to.nurse.Those babies mind their moms.
Better go.check the squash.Enjoy your afternoon.

Good afternoon! Went to Lowe's this morning. I was looking for Millennium alliums; they had two which I bought. Also bought a hardy hibiscus, butterfly weed and two annuals for color that will last until frost. Got most of them planted and am now watching football, same game as Eagle, hoping for a different outcome than she is. Iowa State vs Kansas State. It's a beautiful day, much cooler. We opened up the windows. Getting LOTS of tomatoes now; I have grape tomatoes, Jet Star, Rainbow, Pink brandywine and Cherokee Purple. The latter 3 are heirloom. I will be sharing tomatoes with my neighbors.
Beth

Beth, I remember eating grape tomatoes in a salad at some dinner Charles and I attended. They were delicious, so sweet. I think those the ones you get in the yellow, domed containers. A while back.one of the receptionists at my doctor' s office had a container on her desk for snacking.
Nice to get more plants for your gardwen. Do you have as big a space for the flowers as you did before you moved? I would like to get some more mums this fall,- for Rusty to eat, I guess.

Good morning Rockers.
My DD and I had fun this morning, we went to the Ak-Chin Indian Reservation for breakfast. The homes on the Reservation were all in groups together, all on dirt with no grass, some had small fences around them. The people in the store/Cafe were all Indian. It was nice seeing them all visiting with each other while having breakfast.
They were really nice to us, made us feel welcomed. We got our breakfast to go. I really felt like I was on a Reservation. There's a few reservations around us, this was the first one we went on.
We heard it had the best burritos around, they were good but not the best.
Enjoy your weekend, Hugs Zetta

Iris…will you be treveling the Straight of Georgia? I think that is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
ants…they may be winning
1 -
Judith, they will go away when it gets cold, maybe. I thought the peppermint wss working. Did you check your generator for ants?
Zetta, burritos on an Indian reservation? I would have thought Indian tacos. Glad you had fun.
We're still dealing with hordes of grasshoppers. Gets embarrassing when anyone who comes remarks on how many there are. The guy who delivered groceries this morning said they were on his windows and windshield. Now wasps- I have found two or three in the house, no idea how they get in.
Just put the potatoes and carrots on top of the beans to cook. Squash and onions are cooked. I have cornbread in the freezer -now to find it. Boiled half a dozen eggs.I ate one with mustard on crackers, Stormy ate two and Sheena had three. Theirs without mustard. Stormy even ate the whites.

Iris - Your cruise looked like so much fun, and you got some great photos! And what a great cabin! I hope your transit through Sea-Tac is quick and painless. That airport is often a zoo.
Post the title of the retirement village mystery book when you get to it.
Eve - I'm glad you're building up Team AJ. I'm glad you have them, and I'm glad they're stepping up. I'm sorry about AJ's daughter. It's definitely a loss. My brother was like that too. And I had a similar response - "his loss."
I love the Monterey Peninsula! I lived in Santa Cruz for a long time. Even after I graduated from UC Santa Cruz, I stayed working at the university. My s.o. had to pry me out of Santa Cruz. 😄 I wouldn't be at all surprised if we end up living there again - I appreciate the symmetry. Santa Cruz has changed over the years, of course, but two of the largest populations of people there were students and retired folk. I went in as a student, and may end up there as a retired person.
Goodlife2025 - You spoke too soon! We're supposed to get up to 88 today! Although, maybe that is cooler weather …
HB - I just can't deal with Christmas lights in August. I balk when I see them after Halloween.
JeriLynn - This is the first time I've ever heard you say you were going to be a couch potato. I hope you're currently relaxing and enjoying the day. I still have all of my Saturday cleaning to do, but I'll be on it soon enough.
Lorita and HB - I'd stay far, far away from Vizio. They are a privacy nightmare. They were fined $2.2 million by the FTC for spying on people's viewing habits and then selling the data far and wide. This short article describes what Vizio was doing, and this short article describes how to turn off spying features. They ask permission now, but it's still "opt-out", meaning if you don't opt-out, they'll continue to collect data and then sell it.
Alrighty, now I'm off to go clean and enjoy some of that sun I'm seeing.

GG - Wow, I had no idea about the invasive practices of Vizio! I have 2 of them but fortunately never connected them to our internet. Personally I’m ok with a dumb tv but AJ had a different brand connected so he could stream. ATT, our internet provider recently decided to render our service obsolete and required updating to a different wireless system. Needless to say it wouldn’t hold a connection where we live so no internet for us. I function off an ATT standalone hotspot for now.
I absolutely loved living in Monterey and visiting Santa Cruz often. I’d love to retire on the coast when I begin anew. The man I met and married at the time had to drag me away for better job opportunities. Sigh… some day.

I had no idea either.. We have had Vizios for years. Had to return one years ago after a couple of months. Much easier then because WM took Care of it. Not connected to internet either. Darwin's daughter told me she could hook it up but I.don't care about learning something new. I wish we had the old TVs where you could plug them in and that was it.
I just took the GPs out and sat on the steps a while. Believe it or not, there is a nice.north breeze and it is.cool!! Reminded me, again, of my childhood when we would sit on the front porch after supper and talk. Times were much easier and calmer then. I'm glad I.grew up during those times.
Supposed to have heavy rain Monday afternoon and dome Tuesday and Wrdnesday. We need some rain. Hay has made really good this yesr. I know there are hundreds of 1800 lb. Bales and there is hay everywhere. I heard it's even hard to sell hay this year because there is so much
. Grass in pastures is good, too. Our NE pasture still has good grass. Mike says there's good grass in the meadow, too. I haven't been down there but just looking at it from the road doesn't look.good to me. Sorry for all the ranching talk about hay and grass. That's just me.
Getting ready to watch the science fiction movie called Arrival on OETA so will say good night - sleep well.
0 -
Lorita - I love hearing about your critters, and yes even hay and grass. Here, we pay about $20 for around a 100 pound rectangular bale. Mostly what we buy is orchard grass shipped in from Nevada. Summers here are bone dry, hence the fires. My family was from Missouri. My folks divorced when I was young but I’d go often as an adult to visit. It was always so green and lush year round. Humid and buggy though ;)
Thanks for sharing normal everyday life.

Judith, I had to Google Gulf of Georgia. I dont know exactly where it is, but we were in Victoria BC for only three hours, at night, and I had to pack anyway, so I didn't get off the ship. I had been to Victoria before, so it wasn't a big deal that I missed it this time.
Seattle was nice and warm. The ship's debarkation process was very organized.
Seattle marina--how pretty
The Space Needle from the bus—one day I'm going to go up inside
Sunset from the airplane
Red Sunset
Fluffy clouds
Southeast Los Angeles County at night and San Gabriel River
I'm home now. It's back to the routine.

Good morning. We're in for a stretch of dry and pleasant weather. Perhaps I'll finally catch up on my weeding.
_______________________________________________________________________________________Lorita— My Maytag washer has an agitator and a feature that allows for a deep level wash and/or rinse(s). I wanted a Speed Queen at the time, but it wasn't in the budget at the time. My BFF has a great set up; she has a smaller stack set W/D in her massive en suite bathroom and a full size set in her finished basement for larger things like quilts. The house came that way; the previous owner was an older bachelor who made his 4-BR ranch house into a 2-BR by converting the 2 smaller bedrooms into the walk-in closet/dressing room and bathroom of the primary suite. It'll make it a tough house to sell, but it's ideal for a couple or single resident.
One nice thing about learning to use the apps on a smart TV is the sheer amount of content you can stream for free. There are several free apps that offer all kinds of classic TV programming. You Tube is a treasure trove of old documentaries, news reels, old educational film made for schools and the military. It's a fascinating rabbit hole.
Eagle— Homemade cinnamon buns? I bet that made your DH one happy camper.
Speaking of camping (see what I did there, haha) Lorita— I hope you took it easy with your meal planned and ready Jerilynn, so you are rested for your trip. What are your plans for this quick trip?
Chance— I'm sorry for you having to watch your DH being ghosted by his daughter. Sadly, dead-beat adult children are a common topic around these parts.
Beth— I'm glad you got found some things worthy of your garden. A couple of years ago there was a big brouhaha about boycotting big box stores' nursery offerings because of something related to harm to bees. Do you recall anything about that? I've not heard anything of late.
I should swing by my local nurseries and see if they have any plants on sale. I've been salivating over the White Flower Farm catalog but their shipping is just ridiculous. $30 to ship bulbs? That's crazy. It's a good time of year to plant shrubs here and I have some holes to fill after having torn out all those half-dead azaleas. I'm toying with the thought of more peonies and some more clumps of daffodils as they seem to be the only thing the deer ignore.
Judith— I am sorry about the ant situation. Do you think maybe the mint acting as a deterrent interferes with them coming in to take the bait back to the nest where it can destroy ant the colonies?
Gothic G— I'm with you, I can't even think about holiday lights at the moment. I can appreciate that craft supply places need to have things out early to allow their patrons time to be creative, but I don't need to be seeing Halloween witches at Costco before school has even let out. Rushing Christmas makes DS nuts; it's busy season at the railroad and crazy-time for him. His mantra is "Respect the Bird".

Has anyone noticed drug prices creeping up? DH and I both got our Medicare Part D statements yesterday. Yikes. None of mine where noticeably higher in cost, but DH's 3 of DH's 4 cardiac related meds went up considerably. All 3 of these are generics and inexpensive but they are up 20-25% YTD which is concerning. While the copay hasn't risen, as it is likely to be reflected in our share of the policy costs next year. My costs didn't show any increase yet and his Jardiance will show up on the next statement.
I haven't seen an email from the Penn research group in mom's email yet. I hope it comes tomorrow so I can take a look at what she can expect from it. She sees her retina specialist for an injection tomorrow and then Tuesday she's signed up for a Zoom appointment. Wednesday, I have an initial appointment with my new hematology person. Busy first half of the week so far.I hope all have a pleasant Sunday.
HB1 -
Good morning Rockers.
It is almost pleasant sitting on the patio this morning. Hopefully our hot hot weather is in the rearview mirror.
Thanks for sharing more pictures Iris. I've enjoyed our trip!
I spoke with guy about our Christmas lights. He said he was just trying to get ahead of the rush by hanging lights if people wanted them now. I declined until Nov and he was great with that. I did ask if many were having them hung now. He said he was very surprised that anyone would want them now, but quite a few people said yes to lights in August.
Yes, homemade cinnamon rolls. I will say they were rather tasty. DH had one this morning with his breakfast. He's thanked me several times for making them. (That makes the effort worth it.)
HB your week is filling up. I have a friend who has been having the shots in her eye for about two years. She goes every 5 or 6 weeks now for the injection. So far they are working.
The football game wasn't the outcome I'd wanted. But frankly it was more because DH used to travel to Dublin while working. He chatted about memories of Ireland the entire day - which I encouraged. I did ask if he missed working / traveling and his response was "are you kidding, no, it was killing me. This is much better."
Not sure what today will bring, except more coughing. He is a tiny bit better, thankfully. Everyone be safe.

HB, I have purchased my bulbs from Colorblends for several years now. Very nice quality. I have about 100 tulips plus some daffodils ordered for this fall.
Lorita, my garden is approximately 18 x 12 feet. I do also have plantings in the borders on all sides of the house too. This garden is much smaller than at the other house. There, I had a half acre lot and most of the backyard was flowers.
Eagle, glad your DH is better.
Iris, your photos are beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Everyone please have a great day!

Morning, nice morning here. Supposed to.be a rainy, cool week ahead.
HB, my.old Maytag had an agitator and I could control water level. It finally got to the point the repairman said it would cost more fo repair than a new one would cost. I had no idea the new one would not have those festures. We have had it for years and almost every time I do a load of laundry I wish I had the old one back. Now that I'm alone I don't have muvh.laundry so maybe it will last. Glad your husband's cough is better. Could it be partly due to allergies? Oklahoma has lots of problems with allergies, it's time now for ragweed to kick in.
About time now for the GPs and Liilly to have their allergy shots and nail trim for Sheena. If I take them to the clinic they can do all those things vs. Mike giving them the shots here. He lets me bring them in before his appointments begin and not many people are around. Twice Stormy has seized when I took him during clinic hours.
Eagle, I have never made cinnamon rolls. Someday I may try. Sarah used to make them. Guess I can use the dough feature on my bread machine, roll out the dough and put on the sugar and cinnamon, roll up the dough, cut the rolls, let them rise and bake. Would that be the procedure? Is the dough the same as bread dough or is the dough sweeter? The mother of a friend used to work at a restaurant in town and she made cinnamon rolls that were almost as big as a plate and so good.
Has anyone.noticed that grocery items, namely boxes of Club crackers is about 3/4ths the size they used to be and probably more expensive? So far WM hasn't raised the price of avocados but it's probably coming.
Enjoy your Sunday - back later.

HB…I I do not think so but maybe the peppermint oil stops the ants from coming up.
ant report….only 1 rhis mornning
Caladiums…most are up now.
washer dryer…I would buy the brand most easily fixed. My Whirlpool is 15+ years old.The washer has features I use all the time. Small load/ delicate/ soak/ extra rinse/ heavy duty. It is front loading which I like so no "agitator". I use Borateem/Tide/Oxiclean. I spot spray with Shout.
Speaking of old standby products I got some Prell Shampoo and love it!
Lorita…I suggest you do not get a smart TV.

Eaglemom— I'm glad your friend is doing well with the injections.
Mom's been on them for 2 years now. She has dry ADM/Geographic Atrophy. The medication is supposed to delay progression and for her is working to a large degree. Her scans haven't changed much at all, and her actual vision screenings are better than when she started. That said, her vision out-in-the-wild seems worse.
Judith— My DH used Prell when I first met him. It always made my hair fuzzy. It's great for getting oil and products out of your hair; I'd put it up against any clarifying shampoo on the market. The ATM was out of $20s. I guess Benjamin will be coming to dinner.
HB1 -
good evening
pictures were beautiful Iris. Where are you planning to gonext?
Judith, I had wondered about if the peppermint would interfere with them the bait too. Maybe I should’ve said something about that. I did not put my peppermint out until after I had done it three times and I didn’t get any for a couple of days then I put the peppermint out and so far I’ve had no more. I switched to your cotton balls with oil I think yesterday.

I asked about non-smart tvs when I.got these and the salesman told me that was all they have now. I don't use any smart feature.. I will ask again when I get another one. I'm watching tv in the bedroom, mostly lying on the bed.
GPs just barked so got up and looked out and saw Darwin's PU. He brought more vegetables - cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and several small summer squash. . I hadn't taken the brioche over to them so was able to give it to him. It's hot out there. He should be home in the AC. He almost got too hot yesterday cutting up a.big limb that had fallen in his meadow. I wish everyone could have neighbors like he and Donna. Sheena went outside so better stop and let her back in.

Eve - did you ever go to Beau Thai in Monterey? The guy who ran it spent a lot of time in Thailand and tried to make his recipes as authentic as possible. I just loved that place. I'm sure it's not there anymore because I was going to it in the '80s.
Lorita - I also love hearing about all of your animals and your life on the farm. I'm curious about everything, well, everything except for the grasshoppers. Those gross me out. 😄
About cinnamon rolls - I've been making this recipe for years. It has never failed me. The only thing I change is I add about 1/3 more to the filling because I like them as gooey as possible. I make them once or twice a year.
Club crackers are one of my guilty pleasures. I haven't priced them recently since I've been avoiding processed foods. I'll be back to (some) processed foods at the end of Sept. though!
Iris - what a great series of photos - Seattle to Los Angeles. L.A. will always feel like home to me, even if I never live there again. Every time I drive over the grapevine and see the valley open up, I think, "I'm home now." Every time.
HB - sadly, that's so true - "deadbeat adult children." It feels like something that should be a topic of study - what is the personality difference between the adult children (or adult siblings) who stay and help, and those who don't? But you're right, it's so common.
I haven't noticed anything about drug prices, but I'm about to get hit by international trade tariffs. I was thinking about this dress for my class reunion, but it's probably not going to happen now. Black Milk is an Australian company. sigh
0 -
GG, I like the dress. "Put it on, walk in, twirl, effect achieved." Black Mild certainly knows how to sell dresses!
If you are freaked out by grasshoppers, you would get real chills from "Beginning of the End." This movie involved an agricultural scientist who attempted to grow large veggies via irradiation and created a horde of grasshoppers as big as school buses. 🦗 I don't remember a lot about it (I was about 11 years old when I saw it) but it started with a little town in Illinois that had been inexplicably destroyed, and ended with huge hoppers climbing buildings in downtown Chicago. Their faces filled the windows and the men inside were shooting them with Thompson submachine guns.
Is there really such a thing as a "Seattle Dog" - a hot dog with cream cheese and grilled onions?
0 -
GG, I love that dress and the price is reasonable. Order it quickly!
Carl, that movie sounds weird! I had not heard of it and I doubt I recall any movie or show I saw at age 11. I remember TV shows I watched but not the individual episodes. That is, except for the Ed Sullivan Show when the Beatles appeared!
0 -
It's warm in SoCal but not hot. Las Vegas was HOT.
Goodlife, is Victoria on Vancouver Island? I'm sure you enjoyed visiting your grandparents in that beautiful and clean place.
HB, I was so shocked! In a few places, when I used my credit card to pay, the receipt was automatically sent to my email address without my giving it. The people said my email is already in the system and attached to my credit card. I don't think I like that.
HB and eaglemom, regarding coughs: I don't have bronchitis, but I do have a mild cough almost every day. On my trip I took Mucinex with dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant, in order not to cough in public. It has been working. Chronic coughing is annoying.
Lorita, no, the steward didn't show me how to make towel animals, although there was an activity on the ship that showed how to make them. The ship had many activities, from painting classes, adult coloring, knitting, tech classes on taking photos on your smartphone, wildlife spotting, bingo, trivia games, line dancing, board games, puzzles, and a library. In the evening there were several localities of live music, also shows in the auditorium at night, including comedy, magic shows and Broadway type shows.
I didn't attend any of the evening shows, I was too tired after my busy days. Most days I went on excursions. Also, my group put on talks every afternoon that I attended. So I was busy.
The ship also offered spa services, facial plastic surgery treatments, acupuncture, a fitness center, two swimming pools, two hot tubs, basketball, ping pong, shuffleboard and a walking track. They sponsored a 5k walk to raise money for Alaskan charities.
Eaglemom and GG, homemade cinnamon rolls sound delicious!
JeriLynn, where is Fall Creek and what is there to do there? How many goats do you have?
Beth, what is a Millennium album? Do you think I could make tomato soup with one large tomato?
Lorita, you seem to get grasshoppers frequently. Are these different from cicadas? I rescued a bee last night. It was crawling around in the baggage claim area, probably starved and dehydrated. I wrapped it in a tissue and set it outside in the grass. I don't know if it survived, but it had more chance in the open air.
Zetta, my travel club just visited a Native American reservation near Coeur d'Alene. If I can find the name I will post it for you. If you get a chance, you might want to visit a Pow Wow, which is held annually.
Los Angeles has the largest population of urban Native Americans, from many tribes. Our local university just returned some sacred land to the local Native American Chumash tribe because the university was built on much of their land.
GG, yes Sea-Tac is a big airport, but I engaged the wheelchair service, because I get short of breath on long distances. I would like to make a dedicated trip to Seattle to enjoy its attractions. I saw Mt Ranier. Where is Mt. Saint Helen in relation to Seattle?
Judith, I also use borax in my laundry. I started using laundry sheets to limit plastic. I even cut small pieces in order to do my personal laundry in the ship's bathroom sink. I'm glad the ants are disappearing.
Mint and eaglemom, my next trip will be to Kentucky, in about two weeks.
