JeriLynn, Oliver Kitty is just beautiful. You are so fortunate that he is still with you! Birdy is 12 but has the energy of a kitten. Sometimes I wish he didn’t.

Lorita, my niece turned me on to Pentel EnerGel pens. Mine has a fine tip and is refillable, but there are lots to choose from on Walmart.com. They have gel ink, which is very hard to “wash”on a check. I hope your power comes back soon.

iris, it’s good to hear from you. We have been worried!

Eaglemom, crossing my fingers that the injections help your DH’s neck. That sounds so painful.

GG, Birdy does have a sweet face. He really turned on the charm to get out of jail at the pound, then felt free to be himself once he got home.

And HB, except for his feet, your friend’s bigger kitty sure looks like Birdy. It took two years before he would let me touch his head. In his defense, he is actually one of the smartest cats I’ve had. But he’s not nice to his brother. And those Scranton dogs sound pretty good…

Lorita, the pen I use for checks is called the Sharpie Permanent Marker, Ultra Fine Point.

Kelce was fined by the NFL the other day for poor sportsmanship. He apparently made an obscene gesture after catching a pass. I don't know what problems he has but, based on Swift's career of publishing songs trashing ex boyfriends, I suspect being her BF is not a totally magic experience.

Rain today, high in the low 70s. I'm really enjoying it.

    Off to visit DS, TTYL

Iris. Im glad your feeling better, lots of rest 😴 and taking it slow, is good advice. Thank you for complimenting my fur family.

My traveling has not started yet, we are getting ready for the movers. They will be here the 29th. The fur babies and myself will be in a motel the 28th and 29th, to keep us out of the way. The drive starts on the 30th, we plan on taking 2 days to get there. Iris, thanks for asking. Hugs Zetta 🫂

Thanks, guys, I'll get a couple of those pens to use writing checks.

I guess I have also had a big ball of botherings too, Iris. Now I think I need to get in to see my eye doctor. Right eye has been.bothering me for three or four days, like I have something in it with an off and on headache, and need to get Sheena in to the vet for an allergy shot, nail trim and ear check. I can clean her ears but getting the meds in is different. I think I have Stormy's.hot spots under control using Hexa-Caine Lilly needs an allergy shot, too.

I got out in the pasture late today. Kept seeing a cow down at the edge of the pond so figured there might be a baby involved. The other girls were a quarter mile away. Another cow came up and bawled and bawled. I saw a baby get up and go toward her but there was a fence between them. So, you know me, I had to get them together so drove down and saw the baby had gotten through a five wire barbed wire fence and was nursing.

The cow was still hanging around the trees on the pond dump so drove around the pond and saw a tiny baby.on the pond dump. Drove down a little and the baby came down toward mom. Came to the.House and watched.. Mom came up through the gate so they were on opposite sides of the fence. I walked down around baby and he came up and met mom at the gate. Enjoyed all.of that. Some of them may be in the West pasture because I.saw another cow hurrying in that direction.

Grass is still pretty good and the snow on the mountain is everywhere.. One or two plants of it would be pretty in a flower bed but not everywhere. Years ago Charles brush hogged one of the pastures with a lot of it in it and he and the tractor were coveted with yellow pollen when he finished.

I better stop and get ready for bed. Sleep well. Good night.

Good morning. Rarely do I get to say this - its raining! Just a nice gentle rain. It sure is nice. And its not 99 like yesterday.

Iris things can pile up on all any of us. There is no timeline to feeling better, you just get there. I'm glad you felt you could share with us. I do think a big ball of botherings is a wonderfully description of what your going through.

Lorita you need to get your eyes checked. Just want you want, another thing on the to do list. But you've been bothered long enough that its time for an appointment.

Time to get get ready for our daily Zoom. I sat on the patio and I'm behind now. More later. Let's be safe everyone.

    Good afternoon.

The ant advice came in handy because I lazily left an empty but not washed out cat food package on the sink last night and was greeted with a trail of ants this morning. Ugh! I managed to get rid of them by wiping them up with a wet paper towel and by spraying the remaining trail with Raid. I won't be so lazy in the future.

I must say, though, that ants are so industrious, they will travel far for food, I am on the second floor.

    good morning 9/24

Lorita I did fry the onions and potatoes.

Judith am I assuming correctly that your sister did not have a door locked. If I am assuming correctly, it is a reminder to me to always keep the door locked between my screened in my house. Which I almost always do but once in I’m just going to be out in the kitchen or I will not do that. So I need to do it every time. There is a locked screen door between the outside and the porch, but I could break through that and wouldn’t have to make that much noise doing it. I’m glad she’s OK other than there’s probably a little PTSD from it

    Good evening 9/24

I see I forgot to post my comment yesterday, so I’ll just keep adding on

it’s been a cloudy damp day here in North Central Ohio.I went to lunch today with five other girls that I used to work with. It was very nice to see them of them. I seen since I retired January 2019.

thank you Beth for the suggestions in the article .

Hello! You may recall I once wrote on here about how much my little town (10,000) loves Halloween. Well, the decorations are up at many homes. I took a few pictures to show you. None of the photos I took at grotesque. I did see a place that had fake blood on the garage door, with "Help" written in "blood." Yuk. Here goes a few fun ones.

Hi, Called Mikes office just after 8 to get an appt. For Sheena. All booked up but his wife said to come at 10 or 1 and they would work me in. About 3 this morning Sheena could not get up. Her back legs just did not work. Scared me spitless. Didn't sleep much after that imagining all.bad things.

Darwin came over and helped get her in the car about 9:30. Got there before 10. Mike did blood work which turned out completely.normal except for a little sodium and some dehydration. She hadn't eaten or had anything to drink. They trimmed her nails - he agreed that part.of not being able to get up wss her nails and arthritis. She got an allergy shot and B 12 injection with Prednisone to take, glucosamine chews and a different pain med to give after she finishes the Prednisone. He said other than arthritis she was healthy. She had lost about nine pounds. Darwin noticed that. Also took Lilly for allergy shot and she has to have Prednisone, too. That will be fun! I still have to get Max,Sammy and Stormy over for allergy shots. Sheena will be 12 in January and Stormy will be 11 in March. He said that wss pretty.old for Pyrenees.

Another wrinkle, on the way over there the check engine light came on. Called the Chevy service dept. And they said it was ok to drive a while.. We have had two vehicles that had the light come and we drove them until they were worn out or sold without a problem. I will get down to have it checked. Will call eye doctor in the morning for an appt. We saw another new baby as we left home.

Iris,I'm guilty of doing the same thing, leaving paper plates with a bit of cat food in them. I hope you are still feeling better.

Beth, those.pictures are...not my cup.of tea but each to.his own likes or dislikes. They say people spend more on Halloween than any holiday. Creepy to me,

Good. night, everyone. Sleep tight. There are little babies everywhere. So.sweet to watch them interact with their mothers and each other. I wanted to drive out in the.pasture among them to check on Billy but not safe - too easy to tun over one if it is laying in the grass. A friend who brush hogged for me a few years ago ran over a baby laying in the grass. He was devastated. Every rancher has what I call horror stories.

Lorita, are Sheena's back legs scrawny? My cat Simon lost a lot of muscle mass and his ribs showed. My 17 year old cat Adam is scrawny, he has lost a lot of weight, from 15 down to 8 pounds, and I noticed tonight that he has a big alopecia area on his back. He has become a finicky eater. I have bought every senior cat food at the pet food store, some he likes, but it seems that his likes change on a daily basis.

My cousin used to say, "Getting old is not for sissies." This is true for animals too.

Beth, many people in SoCal go all out this time of year. We have two overlapping holidays, Halloween and Dia de los Muertos. There is even a store that opens up just for this time, called Spirit Halloween. There are several locations, apparently there is a big demand.

Iris, we have a Spirit Halloween store here also. A lot of people love Halloween, or any other excuse for a party. Many years ago, I bought some "Witch's Brew" brand beer for a party we hosted. It was terrible, and we had a lot left over. DW gave it to a friend whose husband was a serious drinker and would drink anything that contained alcohol. Good party otherwise.

Good morning from the North Georgia mountains,

Rainy and humid here this morning. I’m thankful for the weather that forces DH to rest!

We have a small tarp shelter over the picnic table area where we are cooking on the new tabletop grill/griddle. I made brown sugar butter salmon in a cast iron skillet for dinner with sweet potatoes and grilled garlic bread.

The Concert series begins tonight and we are both looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a good day. Be safe!

    Good morning.

Today's the day DH has the neck injections. I'm hoping they will still do them. The coughing is back with vengeance & we've been up most of the night. He's had two nebulizer treatments already. If they can't do this because of coughing I think both of us with cry. Ugh.

I will report in when we get back. Let's be safe everyone.

I personally decorate for fall, but not Halloween. Our town celebrates Trick or Treat on the last Saturday of October; most towns in the area do it on Halloween itself. Thus, many candy seekers from other communities hit our town and later their own. Last year we bought 300 pieces of candy and it was gone in less than an hour!

    Good morning

lorita glad you’re getting to enjoy a bunch of new babies. Wish I had a field behind my yard full of them.

JeriLynn my aunt used to cabin in the northern Georgia mountains. My sisters and I got to visit there once it was a pretty area.

eagle mom hope DH gets some relief for his neck pain. Pain of any sort gets wearisome.

looks like another cloudy day here

Morning, Iris, I can't tell any difference in Sheenas legs but she has lost weight. Doesn't seem too interested in her food so I'm thinking about trying The Farmers Dog or Fresh Pet. I can get that at WM. Haas anyone tried either of these? I checked on Farmers Dog and it is really expensive for two big dogs.

Not feeling too good this morning - yesterday was stressful for everyone. I think my headache is a sinus headache but I think I may see if I can get an appt.tomorrow with my Optometrist. My Ophthalmo!ogist retired a couple of years ago- need to get back with one but if anything was wrong she would refer me. I may go down and have them check the code on the check engine light. Hate to drive it very far if something needs to be fixed.

Enjoy your trip, JeriLynn. I bet the scenery is pretty.

Eagle, hope the injections help your husband so he can feel better.

Mint, it's a lot of fun to watch the babies. They play and run so fast with their little tails up in the air. When they walk with their mothers, one or two days old, they walk next to her, almost touching. By the time they're a week or two.old they sort of gather together and don't stay so close to mom. Yesterday one of the girls was babysitting for two little ones. I have seen bulls babysitting, too. It's a beautiful sunny, cool day. Supposed to be in low 80s the next several days.

Enjoy doing your laundry, Judith. I don't really mind it either.

    Back later.

Got that worked out. Called the Optometrist and they called me back saying it sounds like a migraine issue. Wants me to see my PCP first and go from there. Her office is closed on Fridays. Called my PCP and will see him st 10:30 in the morning. So, will see him and get the car checked tomorrow. I have never had a migraine so not familiar with how they work except for pain. I think I will Take another acetaminophen and see if it helps.

Mint, the girls are coming to the barn. Moms are stopping to give their babies a snack before they find their place for the next few hours. You would love it!

Busy day today. Took car in for transmission fluid change, then to exercise class. Came home, then went to the vet to pick up a prescription, then out to lunch and then to get groceries. Came home, again, and mowed. Next up, I'll watch Jeopardy and pick up the car.

We are going to make s'mores tonight!

    Good afternoon.

Lorita, when I had migraines years ago when I was younger, I felt very bad, sick to my stomach and has nausea, sometimes with vomiting. I had to lay down in a quiet dark room with a cold cloth on my head and two aspirins. These migraines only came on a monthly basis with my cycle in those days. I rarely have headaches nowadays, and I really cannot remember having a migraine in years.

I am uncertain, will you be able to visit your PCP tomorrow? I hope so.

Will you also visit the optometrist?

Is senior dog food available for dogs? There is senior cat food, also sometimes I will puree the regular cat food with my immersion blender to make it soupy for Adam. Oh, what lengths we go to for our fur babies.

Some cats receive glucosamine for arthritis . I used to take glucosamine myself years ago for my knees and it did help. I hope Sheena feels better.

Thanks for reminding me to clean Adam's ears. Adam threw up his breakfast, I need to check him for hairballs.

Zetta, will you be driving yourself? To go from Arizona to Idaho in two days sounds like fast driving. I took three days to drive from LA to Seattle by myself in my Volkswagen years ago. (LA to Sacramento, then to Portland, then to Seattle.)

It's a good idea to spend time at a motel while the packing is being undertaken.

Mint, it's nice that you were able to visit with your former coworkers.

Beth, some in my community promote fall or harvest events to get away from having children wander around neighborhoods at night begging for candy. I have not had any children come around on 10/31 for at least twenty years. But my complex doesn't have a lot of children in that age group. I keep my lights off all that night anyway, so no one will come around.

JeriLynn, GA is so green! Your breakfast looks yummy! I hope you continue to enjoy yourself at yhe music festival!

Eagle, I hope DH can get his injections and get some relief. Just the action of so much coughing is fatiguing.

Judith, I like doing laundry too. It gives me a sense of completion, and I like the way much clothes smell. Do you dry your clothes or hang them up?

I'm feeling stronger now. I believe much of my malaise was post-covid related.

Happy, happy birthday, Ron. Hope it was a good one.

Iris, I have an appt. With my PCP at 10:30 in the morning. I can usually get in the same or next day. It depends on what he says if I see the optometrist. I have never had a migraine so don't know if this is one.. Have had lots of sinus headaches though. This is above and below my right eye. When I had the ocular migraine the other day, the headache began.I hardly ever.have a headache with them. It feels like there might be something in the outer corner of my eye. .No nausea, just the headache.

After I see him I will.go to the dealer to see about the check engine light on the car. When I used to have the awful sinus headaches in the morning I would hold a wash c!oth I had put in hot water over my eye and that helped. Come to think of it, it was always the right side.

I give the GPs Pedigree but I just ordered a couple of different flavors. I think I will stop at WM tomorrow and get some Fresh Pet and try that. They do nave senior dry dog food. My.vet gave me glucosamine chews by DuraFlex? And they love them. They're really moist. The kind I had given them were drier. Chewy doesn't have that brand so guess I will vet them st the clinic-$30 for 50 and they get 1 1/2 each. What else do I have to spend my money for? I used to take glucosamine and calcium and need to take them again.

You all remember the song that asked " where have all the flowers gone?", well, I'm asking "where have my eyebrows gone"? I have been wearing masks and glasses, of course, with no makeup for four years and not looking in mirrors closely so didn't realize what had happened. Hardly any eyebrows. I have wrinkles on wrnkles!! Scary stuff- I will continue wearing masks, for sure. About hair- I remember Jo saying her white hair looked like dandelions that had bloomed. So does mine!! I used to have smooth, dark hair, now it's silver and not smooth.Anyone else having this happen? On that happy ? note I will stop for now.

Iris, I think you are feeling better so glad!
