Just need to talk to my friends (217)
About time for bed so will begin 217. Zetta, I could have taken Stormy in and it would have been ok. She is a country girl and is used to animals. Maybe next year.
April is a pretty month so maybe we can lose.the wind and get rain. Beautiful sunset, JeriLynn.
Happy April Fools Day!

I'm going on another trip and I'm packing everything in my personal bag. It's great to travel light.

Happy April!
Jerilynn— That's a great shot. I could see a nice glass of Chardonnay to go with it.
Mint— No new job. DS was admitted into a nursing program. He already has a BA but needed to take some of the science classes that pre-reqs for the program.
When DS was initially diagnosed with ASD/ADHD, we were told to think of it as an immaturity. Testing put it at 1/4-1/3 of chronological age which tracks.
Gothic G— That sounds like a long travel day. How was your wait at security? I have a friend flying to Vietnam Saturday who isn't looking forward to the shenanigans. She was salty when Pre-check was not operating last time she flew.
Iris— How long is your next road trip?

Mom had a good appointment with the PCP. He thought her lungs sounded better than usual/and what was reported at the cardiologist. I wonder if the spironolactone is going to butter the biscuit where the Lasix didn't. I'm still waiting to hear from the pulmo, hearing aid center and endo. I see my surgeon at 2pm, have an ultrasound to follow up on a kidney lesion seen last fall, and PT Friday. Baby knee is at 119. PT is pleased but I feel kind of plateaued. Next week should be better.

APRIL FOOL!
I have no idea how to pack lightly. My bag is huge! I'm kind of embarrassed, because most of the other ladies have small bags.

Good morning.
Lorita. Does Stormy like going into places, he doesn't shy away from people? Molly likes all the attention she gets going into places. Im watching Wagon Train, its been awhile I was board seeing them all again.
JeriLynn. My choice of wine is also chardonnay. Your view off of the end of your porch is beautiful.
GG. Did you fly to Charleston? Now you need to rest after your long trip, so you can enjoy yourself.
Eagle. Sorry about your cable being cut. Im surprised if it was exposed, why your neighbor did not see it. I would be lost without cable.
HB. Sounds like your baby knee is getting better, how long does it normally take? Good luck with the ultrasound, I hate those things, its been a long time since I've had one.
It's been pretty quiet on my end of the porch. We have been getting some rain and its been colder. I guess thats good, we had some grass planted out back, now I'm doing my best trying to keep the dogs off the new grass and coming in with muddy feet.
I will be having my chardonnay at 6pm tonight. I will toast you chardonners then.
Hugs Zetta

We're driving up the coast towards Santa Barbara. In the distance you can see China!

Nope, another April Fools joke! That's one of the Channel Islands, which is a National Park.

Iris - you are bad, bad, BAD! (but very funny)
I'm actually one of those people who packs lightly. We're in Charleston for a week, and I only have a carry-on (not even an outer limits sized carry-on), and my computer bag. I even have two nice outfits packed (one for Easter brunch & the other one for the "nice" restaurant). I also have gym clothes & a swimming suit. Yep, I'm a good packer.
HB - The Seattle TSA line was light. We were done in 20 minutes - without pre-check. But, we know all the secrets of the Seattle airport (which lines to avoid, etc.). We'll see what the Charleston airport security line looks like, that'll be the real test.
I'm glad your mom is doing better, and I hope your scans go well.
Zetta - I am absolutely loving the weather here. It's mid-70s and I'm wearing a t-shirt! It's one of the ones I haven't worn in almost a year because it's been so cold.
We got to sleep early last night, and set the alarm for 9am. We're both good now. We did, however, go to the Harris Teeter to pick up some snacks, mostly fruit - and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc by Hanna, and a red blend called The Pessimist (it's really good). The Pessimist is a red blend, and with 76% Petite Sirah, fairly dark.
I'll be joining all of you with a glass of the Sauv Blanc when you guys all have Chardonnay. (obviously this week is a week off of the ABCs)
My s.o.'s mom is progressing with her dementia. She's still solidly stage 4, but we're seeing more deterioration in house cleaning and she's not taking her meds. We're on it. Other than that, she's her usual cheery self. And she's still making me feel like the Incredible Hulk when I stand next to her. 😄
I don't usually go to the gym in the afternoon, but I tend to while I'm here. So, I'm off to the gym!

Always 1 carry on bag tripper here. I can pack for 3 weeks in one bag and yes, that means a little laundry in the bathroom every few nights. Northern Ireland was 30 days and 21 B&Bs.

So many Chardonnay fans. Who knew? It seems to be becoming less popular with the youngs denigrating it as "cougar juice". I hadn't been to the local liquor store during my recovery and in my absence they cut the shelf space for Cali Chardonnay by half. Sad face.
Eagle— I got my cable cut by landscapers I hired to remove some ugly old azaleas dad planted too close to the foundation. He did even tell us. Comcast did a patch the next day and rewired a week later. So annoying.
Gothic G— I'm always down for a Sauv Blanc. I especially like the ones from NZ. I have had The Pessimist in the past. I liked it the other woman in our little dinner group does care for Syrah or Malbec because it tastes too raisiny to her.
I'm sorry about your MIL. It sounds like she's in a lovely and safe place which is good.Judith— I am Team Carry-on as well. I remember once years ago before DS was born we flew to St. Maarten. When we checked in a PHL, the agent asked if we were headed for Club Orient (a clothing optional resort). DH traveled lighter than me. He once went to Europe for 2 weeks for a business/vacation trip with only the trousers he was wearing. The back seam split in Amsterdam and the wife of a colleague handed him a needle and sturdy thread. The result reminded me of how one sews up a turkey. I'd packed him a second pair of pants and he was very happy to have them.
Post-op with the surgeon went well. He said I was doing well enough that I didn't need the final PA appointment next month unless I wanted one.

I’m sorry ladies, I’ll join you, but I’ll bring my Wild Turkey on the rocks.

We're just leaving Solvang, the "Danish Capital of America", founded in 1911. I had a cup of Danish pea soup anf three kinds of Danish sausage. I forgot to pake pictures. The sausages were good, the pea soup was just okay.
Judith, I missed your clam chowder last night because I was still packing.
We Just passed some ostriches.
Ostrichland USA
I don't know if this link will work.
Here are some pictures of Solvang.
Mrs. Bunny is rolling out cookie dough in the window, so cute!
Now we're rolling through the Santa Inez Valley, home of vineyards and agricultural lands.
See you later.

Zetta, it's good to have a chuckle 😃.
We're at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obisbo, founded in 1958. There are 110 rooms and each room is decorated with a unique theme. I'm in the Vintage Room. It's decorated kind of like a manor. Here are pictures.
My patio with fireplace—I could just stay in this room, but we're here only for one night.

We're off to a Melodrama now. TTYL

We Just were treated to a fantastic melodrama entitled "The Piratess" with a wonderful cast. The cast was accompanied by a live piano player, just like in vaudeville days. The audience was packed and appreciative. Here is some info.

No pictures were allowed of the performance.
It's very quiet and very dark out here. We're on our way back to the inn
Good night.

We had some rain last night! Haven't been out to check rain gauge but there are piuddles ! CLoudy and windy. Mike said this morning there is some health problem in the area -lots of coughing for which antibiotics are prescribed for some. Hope Stormy's pain meds come today so I won't have to go to it.
Price increase at WM. I lIke chocolate chip rice caked with hazelnut spread on them. I checked and they are now $7.98 for a psckage. I don't think I ever paid more than $2.00. Guess everything is going up. So far avocados and banana prices are the same
Iris, do the same people go on your trips? Sounds like you're having a good time. Your room looks so comfortable.. Bet you enjoyed it.
Feel pretty good this morning so guess I have turned the corner. Thank goodness!
Stormy is sticking to me like glue. I left him out about an hour this morning and he was beside himself with joy when he came in. He's afraid I'm going to get away from him. He keeps going to the place where Sheena always laid in the yard. Guess he is hoping she might be there. I feel sorry for him.
Hope everyone is well today.

Good morning.
I'm glad you're feeling better today, Lorita. It can take a while longer for us to recuperate when we don't feel well.
We're driving by the ocean so there is heavy marine cover this morning, making the morning cold and gray. We're on our way to a goat farm.
Lorita, on this trip, since it is fairly local, all but a few people are regulars. There are four newcomers, I believe.

I just now noticed someone has copied our front porch site! ???
I don’t know how we are going to tell the difference between the two.

It's a cool, rainy day today. We had 1.1" of rain on Tuesday the 31st and it has been raining off and on since night time today. We expect rain tomorrow too. We need it; I'm glad to have it.
I went to the library fitness class ("Fit for Life") this morning and then to the gym where I did back squats, goblet squats, deadlifts, hip abductor and adductor machines, rotary ab machine, elephant walkout, step squats, farmers walk, leg press, tricep press down, bicep curls, TRX lunges and treadmill Everest. I am really enjoying the gym. Still a few exercises I want to do here at home - I have a list, one I created based upon what ones have been shown to improve bone mineral density.
Hope you all have a good day! Beth

How do you report it, Beth?
Drove the PU to the mail box and.now I am itchy going past the cedar trees. I cut little branches yesterday and itched like crazy. They are pollinating and have tiny blue berries on them. We got almost 1.25" of rain!!
Got Stormy:s pain meds so don't have to go get it - 99.00 for two month supply.
Nothing like the country, Iris. I have lived in the country 81+ years of my life, born in the house where I live now.

I reported the other thread by clicking on "Flag" at the bottom of Malp's post. I asked the Moderator to remove it or at least block new posts, because Lorita has already started her new thread, and Friends is her thread!
Mint, you posted on the imposter thread.
We Just visited the goat farm. There are 20 goats all together and 13 kids, about 2-3 weeks old. There are very active for babies. These are registered Nubian goats. They make goat milk soaps and goat milk lotions. There are also miniature horses and big horses.
These are the kids—already quite big and active.
The milking harness attaches to the two udders
The kids drink milk from this milk bucket
