    Here…

Well, I thought Sunday was Monday and almost went to my Thursday appointment today. Yikes!

Did everyone get a chance to watch the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympics? If not I can post.

I have a meeting coming u p with the Alz Assoc here this week. The Making Memories program at the museum has stopped. Very upsetting. I will look for another way to provide an outing for PWD and their caregivers.

Grandson has returned from a long weekend in NYC. Not certain he thinks it is somewhere he wants to work. $$$$$$$$$$$ has him concerned.

Wish we would hear from Jo.

Got good news today. My nephews friend from high school and his room mate , in mid 20’s, has been having knee pain. Turned out a tumor was growing in his knee and had torn his meniscus is my understanding. Around 3% of them are cancerous my sister said and they don’t believe his is. Im so very thankful.

I guess no one had a way to contact her. been a long time since she last posted.

It's kind of hazy here today. Weatherman said it's dust from Colorado and Western Kansas.

Darwin called. Had just gotten back from town. Bought some tomato plants and offered some to me but I really don't have a place to put them. He has a little garden spot and raised several things last year Including cantaloupe and small watermelons - all were good. His daughter cones today so he got some things to cook for her. She works st the VA Hospital on Thursdays but spends Wednesday nights with them. Do wish they would push for an appt.for him.

Judith, I don't remember whay happened with your grand son's Cowboying job. Did they sell the cattle? I hate weeks when my days are mixed up - disconcerting.

Guess I'll go out and raise the flag since the wind is pretty calm.

Best wishes on your gastroscopy, Ron, I hope you get some answers. What a cartoon!

I'm awake, but I'm still in bed; I slept all night but I'm still tired.

Mint, I hope your nephew's friend will recover completely.

    Lorita, I wish I had Jo C's number, but I don't.

Judith, why is the museum disbanding the Making Memories program? Did you see Mr Toad's thread about showing movies for PWDs and their families?

Cowboy grandson in the olderr one and what he did was work at the ranch where they raised calfs until market time. He now has a 9-5 job with benefits. He may in the near future use his real estate license to use selling insurance to agriculture/ranching businesses. Heis with a copany that has clients all the way to Key West.

He had to get a "real" job when he became responsible for his father.

Iris…they gave a reason but I do not believe it…yet.

Re Jo…. I will click on herr name and the association will send her a message. Hopefully she does check her email or maybe someone is checking for her. Since I do not have her last name I have no way to locate her. If she had a pet we could find her like we found Loretta.

Iris, glad you slept well. Just enjoy staying in bed. I think I may take an afternoon nap, however, the electrician said he was going to try to come today to see how much wiring he would need to get electricity to the barn. I'll believe it when I see him.

I just checked some paint cans and there's four of white paint, two almost full so won't have to order that - just gray for the floor and blue for the ceiling. There's one area about 8x10 that Daniel didn't finish painting in the bedroom and I found the blue paint for that. Some day when I feel really industrious I'll paint that -it's ice water blue. There's two 5 gal. Cans, too. I know one may have paint but today I can't lift the other one to see, of course it's on s surprising it's still there.'the bottom. Good they will deliver the paint.

I'd like to have the pipe corral painted. The guy who painted the corral originally came one morning when it was kind of damp and cold. I told him it wasn't a good day to paint but he disagreed. Now that part of the corral is kind of rusty. There's algae on some of the pipes, too. The white and green trim on the barn could stand painting, too, but it's pretty high up. The son of the man who did work on the house and entryways painted it. He was young and not afraid of heights. I've repainted the entryways at least once. We have a wind directional thing on top of the barn that's a cow and calf. Charles climbed up on the barn and put it up. With all the wind we have it's surprising it's still there. It's a never-ending thing to keep things up.

I see leaves on another tree I thought had died. There's three more to go. There's four or five Heavenly Bamboos I need to transplant to the north side of the house - after it rains. The ground is too hard now. Sorry this is so long- had not intended to write so much.

Really I can not. A first name and California are not enough…lol

She and eagle mom are the last vestiges of the old boards. Eagle mom has always made herself available to posters. Jo even removed herself from private messaging. My last messege from her via that route was that I should step back from volunteering to help Sarah. I certainly paid no attention to that…lol.

Ron, would soup help ease your throat?

David, when will you learn about Parkinson's Disease?

Judith, how do you search for a person via a pet?

David, hope you like the VA homes. Oklahoma has five or six, or did, and our veterans really liked them. Charles wss on the list for a couple and they did call when there was a vacancy, however we decided against placrment. . Good luck.

Judith, I had no idea. That certainly wouldn't have been fair to you. You did so much for her until she cut things off as you remember. Same thing happened with me about hospice. She's very independent and wants things her way. I haven't talked with her for two or three days, just a couple of texts.

David, we have a real nice Veterans home here and like yours, there is also a long waiting list. When I first looked into it I found out that my wife with dementia was also eligible to stay in it with me if I desided to use the facility.

David i think you are doing a wise thing. Im not a vet but hope to do something like this privately as I continue to age.

Don’t know if you remember but I was happy last May when I got in with an internal medicine doctor who was youn and from our town. Well got a letter today saying he won’t be seeing anyone after June 13. Well it says if you have a scheduled appointment after that they will call you to discuss your options. I kind of tried to take matters into my own hands. We hardly have any internists so i called the few in town and none accepting patients. I could have gotten into their nurse practitioner but she works 2-3 days a week and no one covers for her if you have an emergency and she isn’t there. So i ended up with an appointment at a family doctor with a CNP who works 4 days a week and they do cover for one another and try to work you in if they can. I am not cancelling my appointment with the other guy in case I need him before i get in with new lady. Maybe if they call me like they say they will that they will give me an option I like better . Hoping maybe there is some new doctors coming to the system. Will also watch the system i volunteered at in case my present physician is going there. I may think about switching to that health system, we’ll see. Right now all their internists are old. I worked with most of them in my health system and they transferred over to this one so I know them and trust them but why go there when in a year or two I’ll be having to look again, so I’m just not going to do that and it’s not really my preferred system. The family doctor I’m transferring to is a young female who has the same last name as a physician I worked with, so I’m guessing it’s his daughter, so I’m hoping she’ll stay around a while. Course she hast to be able to keep a nurse practitioner that’s the only one you can get into.

I am very concerned about JoC also. I’m pretty sure she was probably being gentle with us. The disease that she has is very miserable and can be very disabling. When she told us what was wrong I started crying. This is a patient who i would have been very involved in their care. We know from what she did tell us the last few times that she was very limited in any activity. That’s the one bad thing about on here we don’t get closure. People just disappear. I have heard a few people mention on here that they have something set up with a loved one where they would be able to get on here and tell people if something happens. Thats nice but I’ve never attempted to do that because it just gives somebody one more thing to do. If I wouldn’t have made it last May I would’ve just disappeared into the dark.

Ron hope you and everyone else gets a good nights rest.

Just started thunder storming here and we’re getting hail but it’s little hail. That’s typically what we get. it’s not thundering. Very loudly at all and the wind doesn’t seem to be blowing too bad so hopefully not too bad. Shouldn’t have said that, a tornado warning til 5:15 just came across.

Hello everyone, Very sad about Jo. One has to wonder….the mind goes to a dark place when I think of that. I continue to pray for her and David and certainly wish there was closure. I have not told anyone about getting on here and relaying a message if something happens to me. I do not plan to disappear, unless something awful happens, without saying goodbye. You just never know what could happen; life can change in an instant.

Today I walked the dog and gardened a bit - weeding and generally cleaning up. It felt good to be outside, even though it is windy. It is warm and sunny. My tulips are looking amazing! I have red/yellow combination, orange, red and yellow. I also have some pink and purple in a different area. I have brought several bouquets inside to enjoy. I also have an Easter lily still in bloom.

    Take care.

    Beth

Beth I guess all we can do is pray for JoC and her family, and hope that she knows we are all thinking about and praying for her. Life changes in an instant is so true. When I think of what happened to my LO it still seems unreal. He went from one day having minor memory issues to in the blink of an eye having a bleeding stroke requiring brain surgery and never being the same again - just like that! He is now totally dependent on me and I'm glad I can be here for him.

I picture your beautiful garden with colorful flowers and wish had the wherewithal to grow such beautiful flowers.

Lorita….I paid no attention to Jo's suggestion and as you know I am still availlable to help any way I can.

Iris….I found Lorita when she was MIA. I had a town and knew she had a vet. The town is small so it was not hard to find the vet. He knew her by anothet first name but was more than happy to check to see that our friend was indeed OK.

The Dr situation can really be hard. I am fortunate here in OKC. Dentist, Cardio, PCP, Neuro all top notch. That said now it would be a wait to get an appoinntment.

Thank you, Judith. I appreciate that so much. You've already helped a lot.

Seems that I remember Jo has a son who lives in a town not far from Zetta. I think she offered to help him. No idea if a town wss mentioned. I think Zetta may be in Arizona right now.

Mint, It seems it's hard to get a doctor's appt. . Especially specialists. Darwin has been waiting three weeks this Friday and no appt. Yet and this is with an abdominal aortic anerurysm.

Our town where I shop has one doctor - only one in his clinic. I've gone to that clinic since I was preteen. There have been three different Osteopaths there. My doctor is about 77. This town will be in real trouble if he retires. Neatest other doctor is 30 miles away as is the nearest hospital.

When I was MIA, Charles was in the hospital and I was staying with him except to come home and feed. Luckily when Judith contacted him I had come home and was coming out of the house with Barclee just as he was coming out of the barn-' guess he saw the PU and thought I might be in there. . I use my sister's name and Charles' middle name on the forum but had mentioned he had let a cow and deformed calf go to sleep so he put two and two together. This written to show what can be accomplished with a little information and a determined person working on it. If we live alone, or not, good to have someone to contact about us. Life is uncertain and can change in a minute.

Been dealing for a while with right side aching. Always worry about appendicitis but I've had this before and it's been a strained external oblique muscle. I think I twist getting in and out of car. Saw a possible remedy for that - fold a trash bag and put it on the seat, sit down and turn on the trash bag and put both feet in at once. Same getting out. Hope it works because I bought one of the things that turn but it didn't work.Cooked some far falls and carrots so think I'll stop and. have supper. Do you all say dinner or supper?

Jo, mentioned back in 2014 that she was a contributor to the book " Chicken Soup for the Soul, Living with Alzheimer's and other Dementia's" i purchased it at that time. I just checked my copy I believe her name is Johanna Richardson. I wouldn't put this on this board but she is listed on the chapter heading as the author. So out in public.

Beth, all of your flowers are gorgeous. I could sit among them all day. Do you have any idea how many hostas you have? I bet they are beautiful when they bloom. There are hostas across the front of part of our VA Hospital and so pretty. We've tried hostas and guess I did something wrong because they only lasted a couple of years.
