Dag nap it JeriLynn, my mouth started watering when I thought you might be bringing that cake to the front porch.

I just got back from having the X-rays, she must have taken at least 12 if not more. He drive really has me hurting more, so I think I’ll curl up with a heating pad.

Happy Halloween to all my Front Porch Friends.

It's been quiet on my end of the porch. All the unpacking has been done and everything thing has found a place to be. Iam really surprised and happy, how all my fur babies, have adapted to their new place to be. The cats are having fun with the stairs. They spend most of the day running up a d down the stairs.

The weather here is nothing compared to Arizona. I do miss sitting on the back porch with my morning coffee. Boise, mornings are too cold to enjoy your coffee on in the mornings.

Enjoy your day and be safe tonight, while the spooks are out. My SIL is really looking forward to all the little ones. He's had us get so much candy. He plans on wearing a clown mask in the early evening, till the bigger kids come out then the skeleton mask goes on. My DD and I will stay upstairs with the dogs and cats.

    Hugs to all Zetta

Hi, looks like everyone is out enjoying the pretty weather. At least it's pretty here and supposed to be about 70 next week.

Fed Billy this morning and he didn't want to go back out.. He was limping this morning and holding up his foot. . Called Mike to see what we could do. He's going to be out of pocket this evening and is working in the morning and working cattle tomorrow afternoon. He asked if the antibiotics had helped and I think it did so we decided to try them again. There are lots of berry vines in the chute he would have to get rid of and Billy has never been in the chute so thought it would be better to try this again.

Went by the clinic and got the medicine, probiotics and Duro Flex for the GPs, then to the feed store. Bought 100 lbs. Of sweet feed and 50 of 20% creep. I parked and Billy went to the back of the car like he knew what was in there. So fed him some more with his medicine.

I have a little sweet feed left and I think I can put at least 50 lbs. More in the big, lidded trash can. Could probably put the rest in the PU or in the back but may bring it in the house. We used to keep several hundred pounds of feed in the back of the PU with no rat trouble. I will not leave it in the car.

I'm out of practice lifting 50 lb. Sacks of feed so hope I still can. Also have to get some hay out of the barn. I think it's still too muddy to get the PU in the hall. Bought a new, red sorting stick, too. Wish I hadn't let the girls in to graze North of the house so Billy would have that, but I didn't.

All the girls at the clinic were wearing costumes today, really cute. Some of the yards in town had decorations. One place just outside of town had a couple of big bales painted orange with black eyes, noses and mouths. Have seen that before. Sorry I got loquacious again.

The Fall Feast has begun! We always had candy on Halloween, three birthday parties in November, Thanksgiving, another birthday party on December 9, Christmas, and New Years. Then we all dieted until Easter.

Tonight I'm going to Sean's house to sit with him and his dogs while his wife gives candy to the kiddos. Their kitchen table looks like a candy store! Tammy gives the kids full size candy bars, not the little fun size.

I don't blame anyone for being a "crybaby" with kidney stones. I've never had them, but I've seen then in a jar. Those things are crystals with sharp spikes all over them IIRC. Nasty!

    Good afternoon

it’s been a very busy week. The whole last half of been I hope November is not quieter. I’m getting old and it stresses me out if I have more than one thing to do in a day lol

Quite cold and windy here today. We are packing 250 backpacks tonight at church for I think it’s called Appalachian Coalfield mission . Anyways, I have got my winter coat out to wear to it for the first time. I hate to take it out of the closet, but I guess it’s that time.

I’ve been thinking about making a German chocolate cake whatever I have time. But I will put homemade coconut icing on top of mine. That’s my favorite part.

Happy Halloween, porch friends. Today is the day that i am glad that i no longer live in the Village; there will be a massive parade there this evening, and the revelry will last until dawn. I will enjoy the peace and quiet until Sunday, when 55,000 runners will pass.my corner for the NYC Marathon. Many of the streets in my neighborhood will be closed, and it willl be impossible to cross in that sea of human traffic. So I will cheer them on for a bit, and then spend the day at home.

Yesterday was exciting for a different reason. It rained harder than I have ever seen it rain here, and the basement flooded AND the roof leaked. Basement flooding is kind of a regular occurrence, but the roof leak was new. The roofer came to look this morning, and will be back to fix it next week. It is supposed to stay dry until Saturday.

The end of the week was consumed by taking both cats for their annual physicals. I have to carry them both 1.5 blocks; one weighs 14.5 pounds, and the other 13.75. They go on separate days, since carrying 29 pounds of cat is just not possible for me. As it is, I am going to need a rest tomorrow.

It sounds like everybody has been really busy.

Zetta,I am glad that you and your cats are settling in to your new home. Mine love the stairs, too.

Ron, sorry for all the doctor’s visits, but I am glad you got some warmer clothes.

Lorita,I hope Billy’s foot gets better. It must be distressing to see him limping again.

JeriLynn, that cake sounds delicious. Picture, please!

HB, sorry about the crown. Never a fun experience to spend a long time in the dentist’s chair.

And Gothic, I am going to start on your blog. Between the weather and the vet visits, this week kind of got away from me. Wishing a happy holiday to all.

    Happy Halloween!! 🎃

Ron - I'm glad you have all of your layers of clothing now. You'll be appreciating all of that pretty soon.

Carl - Mitternacht is a fun song and I think most goths love it (I do too even if I laugh at it at the same time). I love the video - very atmospheric, and who doesn't love a horse-drawn hearse? 🙂 And the guy in the video is kind of cute.

Judith - I'm a big fan of European cathedrals. And like you, if there is a cathedral nearby, I'll be in it.

To this day I remember the Nike of Samothrace swooping down the main stairs

I have that very photo in a photo album!! Seeing that in real life was awe-inspiring.

JeriLynn - Yay for a full night's sleep!! It's amazing how well you can feel after a good night like that.

I'm impressed by the German chocolate cake. So yummy.

Zetta - I'm glad you're all getting settled and that the weather is better (even if it's too cold in the mornings to sit outside). It must feel good to finally be there.

Our cats loved the stairs too - up and down, up and down. It sounded like a herd of elephants!

    Lorita - I'm pretty sure I couldn't heft 50lbs of feed. I'm impressed.

Big day on my end of the porch - 33rd wedding anniversary. 🙂 My s.o. is making paella and the kitchen is starting to smell great.

Our wedding reception was a Halloween costume party. I came as The High Priestess (tarot card) and my s.o. came as The Fool (another tarot card).

Here's a pic of our first dance:

    wedding dance.jpg

We're all at the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco. Definitely a great night.

GG, cute picture. Tonight on the news it talked about the fact that many couples get marrled on Halloween.

Zetta, years ago we had a lot of poodles. When we had puppies they would run down the hall and it sounded like a herd of elephants. Funny.how things as small as puppies or cats make that much noise. Glad you're enjoying the Idaho weather. I saw a few trees today that were turning yellow.
