Lorita, Judith and eaglemom, I hope the tornados are over with and that you all are safe!
Mint, I'm glad your mom is beginning to be mobile again. She needs to take a few steps as often as possible for her to gain back her strength. Is she using a walker?
My 92 year old neighbor forgot that I've been back from my trip for two weeks, she thought that I had just returned. I didn't correct her. We had a nice conversation about Paris, which she had visited. Her conversation about Paris was appropriate, but she just didn't remember that I've been home for two weeks.
CaroLynne, Stevie is a cute name. All my cats know their names and they do come when called (mostly).
HB, my current gift to people are bottles of Fiji water. I call it vacation in a bottle, they can imagine that they are lying on the beach in Fiji. It is so hard to choose food gifts for people because there are so many foods that people don't eat. But everyone drinks water.
HB, is your mom coughing? Is she still doing her breathing exercises? I'm still having coughing spells sporadically. I have a lot of tasks to catch up on because for two weeks after I returned from my trip I was too sick to do anything, I have not even unpacked yet.

Hi, looks like our severe weather is.over but another round coming through this weekend. We had ,6.5" "of rain. Because of the severe weather didn't get to watch much msnbc which might be just as well. Our weathermen were on from noon until 5 p.m. There is snow in our panhandle!!
Eagle, looking forward to the game tonight. How about you? Mint, glad your mother was able to get up in her chair today. Tomorrow will be better. Prayers for both of you tonight and for HB and her mother.
Iris, glad you're feeling better. Take it easy for a while.
Caro Lynne, how is Stevie today?

We are going to have record high temps to vote tomorrow.
Will be glad when all this —— is all over. But it won't "be over " for quite some time unfortunately.

Good morning! Hope the storms are over for my friends in the path. I heard that MO broke their 24 rain record.
Lorita, Iris - Stevie has made much progress! My 14 lb chi mix barks and runs after her and she hides. When it happened yesterday I couldn't find her for hours. I was in tears calling her name. I think she figured out I was calling her and she finally came out of hiding. Last night she slept on the pillow over my head, so cute ❤️ So now there are four of us on the bed; Suzy (4lb chi), the crazy chi mix, Stevie and me!
Mint, you are in my prayers, please keep us updated. HB sounds like your mom is doing better?
Hope we all have a good day xo

Good morning! Storms and rain are gone, we have northly wind and cool temps. There are quite a few leaves in the yard from the wind, but I figure the wind will blow them away!
Lorita did you watch our Chiefs? Quite a game and overtime. I hope Patrick's ankle is ok. I think he'd play on it no matter what.
Back later to check on everyone. I've got a self-imposed timeline to get done today. Of course it begins with a call to customer service, ugh.
Let's be safe everyone.

Morning, guess everything is okay here. it's cloudy and.cool. Eagle, I watched three quarters of the game and had to go to bed.. The stress of the storms got to me. Had to check this morning to see who won. You're r ight, he would play if he was on crutches. He just stepped wrong but next bet it's sore today.
Haven't been out to see what the total rainfall was. Just looked and the sun is shining. Darwin said the creek isn't up much. Guess the ground was do dry that a lot soaked in. Wish we could have gotten half of this two months ago and the rest a month later.. Hate to go into winter without grass for the girls to graze.
I hope everyone has voted or will vote today. The news said the lines are long in Oklahoma. I wonder how long it will be before we know the outcome. How.long did it take last election? Need to find something for breakfast before Leave It To Beaver comes on.
Hope everyone is well, or better, this morning.
Addendum: just checked and we have had 6.75" of rain, total, the last three days.

I guess I will go to the polls @3….

Voted hope my person wins.

Me, too, David. I just checked and our Election Board received my.absentee ballot yesterday. I think it will be a long night or even days before we know for sure.
Judith, there were long lines of people waiting to.vote in Tulsa. Carol said there were long lines yesterday in her town.

You bet your ass it will be a long long long long night or longer.

DS, DH and I voted in person around 11am. The wait was about 25 minutes on a gorgeous day. Normally my polling place sees about 300-400 voters by noon; today was about 600 at 11:30am. I expect many of my neighbors cast mail-in ballots.
Folks seemed fairly civil; I hope things remain so everywhere. My godchild had to create a civil unrest protocol last month to protect the workers, volunteers, trucks and warehouses of the largest food bank in the city and her mom is working as judge of elections in the city.

I'm sitting here having a cup of coffee, I usually have green tea in the mornings. I'm enjoying not being sick. But I still have coughing spells during the night.
Jo C, it's nice to hear from you! It's hard not feeling well, but it's nice that you have found reading to be a way to pass the time enjoyably. What type of novels do you like to read? I like to read mysteries. I also started watching a few of the many DVDs that I have stacked up in bags, waiting for such a time as this, when I'm recovering from being sick with whooping cough.
CaroLynne, I hope your Chi's and Stevie will become the best of friends very soon. I used to train my cats to sleep at the foot of the bed, but the allergist said that I am strongly allergic to cats, and he didn't want the cats to sleep on the bed with me, 😕 so I'm alone at night.
I know many of you like sports. Our LA Dodgers, (I still think of them as the Brooklyn Dodgers, although they moved【defected】in 1958) won the World Series, so the city held a big parade last Friday. People were so excited.
No rain here, the weather is still warm.

Iris, so glad you're feeling better. Take it easy. Did Jo post somewhere that I missed? I drink green tea from time to time.but I can't get much taste from it. Do you add something to it?

Lorita, see the spouse board under Ed's post called "Just want to apologize" for posts from Jo C.

done…no one in line…. home to home in 15 minutes

Glad it went smoothly Judith!
Lorita, JoC also responded on the spouse board in thread titled:
I have one more question

Thanks , Marie and Caro Lynne. I'll read them. No one in line, Judith? That is surprisIng. Glad you voted.

Anyone watching the election returns???

Lorita, I drink a store brand of green tea that has a good strong flavor. I sometimes will buy matcha tea, which is a stronger green tea. I usually just add stevia, but on occasion I will buy jasmine green tea or ginger green tea. I have always been a tea drinker. I started drinking tea when I was a teen to help me lose weight. I would have a cup of tea instead of a snack after dinner. In those days, there was only black tea. I'm working on losing some more weight again.
I'm listening on the radio.

No line where we voted either. There were long lines for early voting last week, so we waited until 4 PM today and sailed right through.
Had a lot of thunder and rain last night, but the tornadoes stayed south of us, as did the worst of the rain. Several schools are closed, just because the roads are blocked by flooded creeks, in towns south of us.
We have used our safe room only a couple of times in the 15 years we've been here. With weather radar, we can tell when a tornado is close versus when it is real close. We have had to pick up pieces of other people's houses from our yard (broken boards with insulation, etc.) but that is as close as we have come so far. Crossed fingers.

The election is over. I am going to follow my grandfather's advice. We will all pay our bets and go back to work.

Good morning
The windows are wet this morning so we got a little rain. Thankful for any rain we get.
My mom is now aware she is in assisted living. Visited with her yesterday afternoon. She is doing well so far. She is going to dining room now for each meal and brags on the meals. I was there about 30 minutes and she says i don't mind being by myself. I like people to come but then leave. She said you can go now and then told me she loved me. I laughed and said ok mom. Im so thankful

Morning, really foggy here this morning. I am still in bed,no reason to get up. Just saw election returns on Morning Joe.

I was watching last night and so glad I fell asleep. I too awoke to find out on Morning Joe.
Mint sounds like your mom has accepted the move well, that must give you some relief. How are her legs?

Morning everyone.
I certainly hope I didn't step on anyone's toes when I commented that I had to call customer service. We have MetLife Dental and their customer representatives are frankly horrible. I've called 2x's a month for over a year - yes over a year - trying to get our billing corrected. It's not difficult, but to them apparently it is above what they are able to do! (I'm being nice here!!) You can't speak with a manager, because when you ask, your put on hold and at ten minutes your hung up on. The sad thing is, each person you speak with has a different answer to your problem - thus no solution ever happens. I'm always nice, but frankly MetLife has used up all of my 'nice' for them! What we receive in the mail and what they offer are totally different - and they can't figure it out! Enough of that.
Beautiful cool morning here. The dew is very heavy on the ground. The puppy's paws and tummy were so wet from the yard. Of course drying her off was great fun for her, causing the zoomies, as we call them. So silly.
We have our twice monthly Cafe today. My LO loves attending, he gets to help everyone, which is what he loves. He can't stand anyone struggling so he helps everyone. He is always exhausted by the time we get home. Time for me to get ready and encourage him in the same direction.
Heads up everyone. Let's be safe out there.

Good Morning Everyone,
Got a little rain here. More expected for the next 7 days or so but nothing severe. Glad you all fared ok with the storms.
DH is down in the pasture working on fence. He's almost done. Except for the (what I think) is the most aggravating part of tying the fence to each post. He uses these metal things that look like bent staples and twists them around the wire with a pair of channel locks. It takes me two hands to hold the channel locks and he can do 4 posts to my one, lol.
So, I decided to stay inside today and do some cooking. I'm finally baking those cottage cheese crackers. We'll see how they turn out. We're having bourbon maple salmon for dinner, cheesy mashed potatoes, bacon wrapped asparagus and some kind of whatever bread I decide. I've got some red beans on the stove resting. That'll be for tomorrow, I guess. This is cook and take food to Scottsboro week and I've got my fixins' ready for that.
The cleaning is finally done. Except for the office. I decided I'm not messing with it until after taxes for the Shop, DH, FIL and me. Just too much to put up and pull out again so I'm waiting. I now have 4 tables of paperwork laid out. But it is organized and I don't want to confuse myself by moving it. I did wash the windows, blinds and the draperies so it looks and feels better in here.
Mint and HB, sounds like your Moms are doing better. Hoping that continues and you each get a little rest.
My dear 84 year old Auntie just got home from hospital. Pneumonia. Dementia for sure but no true "diagnosis" yet. My cousin and I are trying to gently "guide" her son and DIL to best decisions for her. They are absolutely oblivious, Aunt has anosognosia and is STILL running her beauty shop a few customers a week. I'm going to see her today and assess the situation. Fingers crossed.
Have a good day, BBL.

JeriLynn, those clips to attach the barbed wire to the t-posts can be aggravating. I have a fencing tool that is not quite as big as the normal ones so it works pretty well for me. Hope I'm done with that but have attached a lot of them. Seems like there is always fence repair to do when you have fences. Charles and I have built fences but now it's left to Peyet. Amazing to me how fast and straight he and his son build fences. They are really pretty fences. I have gotten many compliments on his fence work.
Cool and sunny here. Not in the mood to do anything so won't. Darwin called a Couple of hours ago. Said he was tired because he had worked cattle all night. He said he was going to rest today, but he won't.
