Good morning all, or rather good rainy morning. It is pouring rain here, and its supposed to keep it up all day. I know those who have waited until the last minute to run errands and shop are not going to have a pleasant day. I plan to bake and not leave the house.

Thank you for indulging me with Madison's picture. I just thought she was too cute not to share. She just turned two and is so great with DH. I plan on getting her canine certified, but I'm not in a rush to do it. We probably should have named her a Dec name (Joy, Merry, Noel, etc) but that just didn't work for her. We've named all of our dogs with rather big names: Gertrude, Heldiguard, Harrison, Woodrow and Abigail. Thus Madison.

Oh boy, I might not be baking. No power, I'm running off battery in a dark room. Be safe everyone. Back later when we have power.

Christmas Eve Gift to everyone! In our family it was a tradition to say that on Christmas Eve morning..

Rained last night and still drizzling. Glad I can stay inside today.Next few days are going to be in 50s and 60s.

HB, I did check with WM and their Lee Riders are just under $50, used to.be about $25. Denim &Co. Jeans are made in the same factories with the same materials as the high end jeans but they sell them for less because QVC buys and sells so many pairs. Their clothes are really nice, fashionable for me, wear well and launders well. I have things I bought from them 30 years ago and they still look as good as new.

Gray day here, still wearing my fleece pajamas. They are so warm. . Hope everyone is well today. Need to call Joan to wish her happy holidays. Hope she will be able to.post soon.

Did.not know that but had not thought about it. Most clothing is made out of this Country with some exceptions. Mother worked for White Stag years ago so know it was made here, at least back then. I don't like to buy products made out of the US. Guess because the clothes are made in China is the reason it takes śo long to restock.

Judith, fleece is made of polyester and doesn't have to be ironed and is warmer than flannel. Flannel is made of cotton. Used to be "the," thing to wear. I have some flannel shirts and one that has a light weight sherpa lining. I prefer fleece. Wonderful material to sew just like double knit was in the 70s.

Mama Betty and her babies Edith (black and white) and Archie. The babies feel like they weigh about a bag of sugar 4-5 pounds. They’ve already started to nibble at the hay and are very playful.

It's a beautiful sunny day here with temp of 50.
    Merry Christmas Everyone!

    Judith-

Flannel is a woven fabric that has a brushed surface which has a soft hand. It's most often cotton but can also be made from wool and even rayon. Fleece is a knit fabric with a pile. The pile can be anything from a short minky to a faux sherpa. It's a synthetic— usually polyester. Polar Fleece is made from recycled PET bottles.

LOL, I disagree with Lorita on ease of sewing. I made DH a lined fleece bathrobe last year and swore through the entire process. It was a minky nursery fleece outside and lined with a heavier Polartech inside. Picking out a seam in fleece is a nightmare.

JeriLynn, are those the baby goats that were just born? They look so big compared to their mama.

HB, this evening I will drive around to look at Christmas decorations, but I won't pay anything.

    Merry Christmas Eve to everyone!

Iris, I enlarged the magnifying lens to give a clearer view of the babies. They’re really tiny compared to their Mama. But she was busy eating so it was hard to get a good picture of them together.

There were garment factories in every little town in the Ozarks when I was a boy, but the manufacturers have found even cheaper labor overseas. The Lee Jean factory in Lebanon MO burned down a couple of weeks ago, but it had sat empty for years.

I want to thank Lorita for providing this site, and all of you for accepting me into your group. My circumstances isolate me quite a bit and having you to talk to means a lot.

I just finished watching "It's a Wonderful Life". Earlier I drove around and looked at Christmas decorations, households are very creative. Now I'm going to read the Christmas story, then to bed. Merry Christmas!

Carl, these are meat goats so we do not milk them. And, I am so glad of that because I don't know how I would fit that into my already hectic days, LOL. My grandfather was a dairy farmer, the @#1 Grade A dairyman in our state. Twice a day, 120 heads.

    Merry Christmas!!!!

I'm hoping each one of you has a wonderful day filled with exactly whatever you choose. We are having a quiet morning together, doing our dementia Zoom (in our jammies), giving Madison her new toy then reading the Christmas Story. I'll get our midday meal ready and then we're wrapping it all up and heading to the hospital to share it with friends who are there. Keeping it simple and calm.

Morning, cold cloudy and foggy here. I just got up. I have been watching The Waltons since last night. Must be a marathon. Didn't get to sleep until 3 and got up at 10:30. Dogs and cats were restless.

This thread waas started when Charles was diagnosed and I didn't know what to expect and had no one to talk to about it. I doubt I could have made it through without the information and comfort offered by everyone. People have come and gone but many have stayed and all of us have become sort of like an extended family. It's sort of a social thread but when needed each of us has good advice to offer and everyone is welcome to join in. Hard to believe our thread has been going for 16 years, with more to come.

I hope each of you will be enjoying this day with family or friends or just by yourself with our pet family as I will be doing.

JeriLynn, The baby goats are precious. I knew they were little but not that little. I'm used to babies but 60-70 pounds. Back later. Enjoy the day.

That's so cute, Marie. Been watching The Waltons most of the day but just changed to True Grit. Been a long time since I saw it. Loved John Wayne in any movie It's been foggy all day. Did clear up to half a mile visibility but down to less than a quarter mile now. Hope all.of you have had a good, peaceful day. Rest well tonight.
