I have a new "job" at the fitness center; I'm deadheading the daylilies - there are probably 200 or 300 of them, all white (except for two???). I asked the mgr if I could deadhead them because that will make good material to put in my compost. He was delighted. He said, "Sure, now I don't have to do it!" ha ha

I'm going to surprise him, maybe, by weeding there today too. I truly love gardening.

Off to the fitness center soon to do cardio (did weights and cardio yesterday) and work in amongst the daylilies.

GG, I connected with a trainer and hope to start working with her week after next, schedules permitting.

Lorita, while hantavirus is unlikely, better safe than sorry.

    Enjoy your day, everyone!

    Beth

Morning, thanks for the advice Iris and everyone. My doctor is on leave this week but I think/know his staff is there. I'm going to go to his office and talk to his nurses and if the phlebotomist is there maybe she will draw the blood and they can send it off. When he gets back Monday the results should be in soon after. He calls in every day when he's gone. If this doesn't work I will go to urgent care or health and wellness clinic.. ER is 30 miles away. No advice phone.number but I can talk with Diane and Jody, his nurses.

Iris, I was on an open porch but no mask or gloves. I think I remember inhaling when bent over sweeping up the droppings. I'm probably ok but want to.be sure.

Sounds like things are progressing, Ron. Happy for you.

The daylilies at the fitness center. This is on one side of the door. There are more on the other side of the door.

I tried but didn't get it done. They couldn't do the.blood draw at my doctor's office because no lab pickup when he is gone. Went to one urgent care and they don't do the test. Went to Health and Wellness - same thing. Did talk to urgent Care in the town where I worked and have been there.. They will do covid and flu test, write a script and then I have to go to Lab Corp for the test.

It had already begun to sprinkle when I left town. My.phone didn't get charged and we are due for severe weather around 11 or 12. I didn't want to be out in bad weather so came home. Will go tomorrow. Strictly a water haul but did pick up my prescription. One day won't make much difference- should have gone last week

Lorita, you got a lot accomplished. But I have a question. Why were there so many mouse droppings on your porch? I realize you live in the country but that seems to be too much!

Beth, the daylilies are lovely! I see why the manager was happy for you to take over the job of caring for them.

Ron, is that a new recliner?

Air quality will be poor in east LA County due to the current fire, which has been ongoing for six days. Fortunately for me, I live south of the smoke and closer to the ocean. N95 masks are recommended for vulnerable people.

I'm going to the senior center to watch a movie this afternoon. TTYL.

Good thing I didn't go to the other town because it's really dark and radar shows a big storm coming in. Darwin had an eye appt. this morning so hope he's home-/his daughter took him.

Iris, I feed the birds on the porch and guess the rodents were after the seed. The porch is not.closed in so no problem to get up there. Our house is in the.middle of the farm with grass and weeds around so they're everywhere.

I wish I.could have gotten the test but maybe tomorrow. It won't change anything.but a negative report would help my feelings.

I'm glad you're not close to the smoke. Take care and wear your mask.

Good afternoon. We had a decent rainfall over night with more rain today. It's been needed.

I ran mom to the lab this morning. I checked her phone; the hospital called her on Thursday minutes after I left. Ugh. I called yesterday when I hadn't heard anything. The scheduler looped me in on the need for bloodwork ahead of the procedure, so I called the pulmo's office which faxed it just as the lab closed yesterday. When I got to the lab, they couldn't find the orders, so I pulled them up on her iPad (they'd messaged them to me as well just in case). They said they needed a hard copy, so I had to email them from the e-chart to the lab, and have the phlebotomist print the email attachment times 3. The folks in the waiting room at the lab were an especially cranky bunch for some reason, making it even less pleasant than usual.

I also had to pick up a medical form for DS attesting to his vaccine record and titer status which is due Saturday. The NP filling in for DS's PCP didn't sign one of the forms, so DS has to bring it in Friday morning.

The scheduler gave her a 1pm slot on Friday for the thoracentesis. I knew this would happen. DH and I have our long standing derm appointment at 1pm on Friday. I figure we'll drop mom at the hospital with me escorting her to the procedure intake team at 11:45. DH and I will go to our skin checks and then circle back to the hospital to fetch mom and take her home. I hope the procedure helps. She's very SOB and exhausted. I'd reschedule my appointment, but I've had hives on my left calf for a month now and I suspect it's a drug side effect. The hives/rash started with the addition of a second thyroid medication. Always something.

I hope all have a pleasant evening.
