Lorita…check your gas gauge…

Hello,
Happy belated birthday to you David. Happy birthday to you Iris, your still just a kid. 🎂
Lorita. I don't drive much anymore, I'm not familiar with where I'm at, and people drive crazy. I put my car in my daughter's name, so I would not have to get a Arizona, drivers license. It stays in the garage most of the time. I can still drive if I want to, my Oregon, license is still good for 5 more years.
Carl. I had to get all dressed up when I was working. I told my self that when I retired, no more dressing up, and, I have kept my word. I feel when, you get old, be clean and comfortable.
Mint. That's a smart idea, putting that warning system on your phone. Now you can sleep better. I have never been, around tornadoes, I know I would be scared. My grandparents lived in Oklahoma, they had a tornado seller, the idea of having to go down there scared me.
HB. Were going to yoga, again tonight. We got a trial pass for two weeks, we can go anytime, and to any class we want. We are going to try all the easier classes. Tonight we are going to restoration class. I afraid I won't like that as much as I did, the beginners basic class we did last night. Thanks for telling me what you experienced at yoga. I hope I don't fall a sleep. 😅😅😅
Good evening to all, Hugs Zetta

No gauges light up Judith. I had 3/4ths of a tank. I did think about the gas remembering the ordeal with the gas gauge on the PU but that time the engine turned over - this time not one thing. The windshield wipers were stopped on the windshield and I didn't use them when I last drove it.Normally when I open the door some dash lights come on, but not now.
I think I figured out the battery charger which can also jump start it but either it will have to charge it an hour or more or I will need to drive it.. Roads are too muddy to do that. Gary won't come while it's rainy because the work on the barn is outside. He was building a deck for someone but that was also probably stopped because of the rain. Not going anywhere anyway and the PU is doing okay. If I can locate the Halo Bolt it would be easier to use than the charger on wheels.
Haven't been out to check on the baby today so hope he's okay. Girls are in the NE pasture so can't see them from the house. Weather says we're under a flash flood warning for either tomorrow or Saturday. . Also said most of Oklahoma will be in the low 30s this weekend mornimgs and you may get some snow! Hope no one has set out tomatoes.

Did you leave a door ajar? I have run down a battery that way.

No, door was closed good but what is funny or odd is the gear shift wasn't in park but in neutral or it would have gone farther into the carport and the windshield wipers were in the middle of the windshield. Almost like something had been in the car and did things, then closed the door. Really weird. Guess I need to lock the doors and bring the key in at night or all the time. Leaving the key inside is so handy though.
Oh, I just found the paint tray and roller. It was under two dry mop heads on a bottom shelf of a table in the utility room. Now to find the halo. .
Snowflakes for you Sat. Morning. So you ordered caladiums?

I've had a fairly low key day, so has my s.o. We're getting ready to have pizza because neither of us feels like being in the kitchen. The pizza got here right as I started this post, so it's now been munched, and I'm back.
Carl - I hear your weariness, and an extra hundred miles is an extra hundred miles. Do you have anything that can makes those drives more pleasant? I don't tend to "doll up" either, but then again I never really did. If I'm going out to a club, I'll put on make-up, but I've never been a make-up kind of girl.
Mint — the reaction to the mmr vaccine was —— not bad. I had some chills last night (nothing to write home about), maybe a slight fever, and of course my arm hurt, but that was it. No aches, no headache, no other adverse effects. My s.o. had a different reaction, no chills, maybe a slight fever, but he also had aches and a headache. He was up and down during the night, but he's back to his normal self today. I'm fine enough that I'll probably go to the gym tomorrow. So, nothing major, and now it's done.
And yes, I got them both at the same time. We were both in the same spot as you describe - right on the cusp of 1957, and my s.o. (who is younger than me by ~ 5 years) is in the middle of the group of people who got the vaccines that weren't as effective.
Beth — I had the Novavax vaccine last time, and had no reaction to it at all (except for my sore arm). I was hoping to be able to get it this time, but they didn't have it. I checked my immunization records and I found all of them except for the measles vax. Honestly, I can't believe my mom didn't have us all vaccinated against that (she had done everything else), but the record was just absent, so I thought, well, better safe than sorry.
Happy Birthday, Iris!!! I hope it's been a good one!! 🎂🎉
Zetta — I don't know what a yoga restoration class is, but I'm sure I need it!!!

Happy Birthday to David and Iris!
Lorita, it does sound like someone who didn't know how to drive late model cars tried to start your car. Mine sets off alarm bells if I shut off the engine in any gear but park, and your car is newer than my 2012 Nissan so I'll bet it does too, so I doubt YOU left it in neutral. Mine won't start unless the brake pedal is depressed. I think turning on the ignition, shifting into neutral, and leaving it that way after it didn't start would drain the battery. I think you're right, it's time to lock your car.
Mint, I have noticed that very small sounds will wake me it I want to be wakened, but quite loud sounds won't wake me if I don't. Since you really want to hear any tornado warnings, you will. Glad you didn't have any severe weather.
We had thunder, lightning, and rain here today, but no high winds or hail, so driving was just wipers, ,lights, and watch for the guys who don't slow down for anything. It's all urban driving where most drivers are speeding and 10% are drunk, so I'm not willing to listen to the radio, play audio books, or do anything else that might be a distraction.
My car has 187,000 miles on it and it's getting noisy, but it reliably starts and stops as it was intended to do, so I keep chugging along. The maintenance bills are less than the sales tax on a new car. I got a letter from the Nissan dealer today, saying "Such a deal we have for you" but I put it in the trash. I haven't shopped for a new car since 2012, and I haven't missed it.
More rain tomorrow, floods possible in the low areas. Might be a good day to stay home, shred some old files, and make a pot of beans. Sleep tight, friends.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!
Zetta, I agree with you and Carl, I just wear comfortable clothes. But I do have one sort of dressier outfit to wear to doctor's appointments.
Lorita is your car parked in a garage? That was very strange.

After my mother retired in her mid-80s, she wore sweat suits day and night. When she felt the need, she bathed and put on a clean sweat suit. I know a man who does the same, only it's more "athleisure" outfits instead of sweats. He wears a vest with many pockets when he goes out, containing his keys, credit card, etc. I haven't gone quite that far yet, I still wear pants with pockets, but I don't own a rack of ties anymore. The last funeral I attended, the deceased was laid out in his NASCAR jacket and cap and the preacher wore a polo and slacks. Dressing up was on its way out before the pandemic, and it breathed its last during, at least around here.
When I was a boy, visiting country churches, I noticed the standard church attire for old farmers was a white shirt buttoned to the neck and clean overalls. They were ahead or their time.

Good morning.
The storms from the Midwest blew through last night— the thunder and lightning woke me a couple times. The rain should end soon and then we'll just be soggy. It's not going to be a good hair day.
Happy belated Birthday to Iris and David! 🎂
Lorita— I am glad you were able to help the little calf reunite with his mama. That's weird about the truck and battery. I live in a very nice suburb, but I keep my cars locked. When my parents lived here, they had a car stolen from the driveway.
Lady Z— I'm curious to know what you think of the restoration class.
Mint— I should probably do a COVID booster soon. At this point it's about protecting my immunodeficient BFF and mom. I'll do Novavax. I react to it, but it's a shorter duration of feeling crummy.
This can help you find it-Carl— There's a guy who lives on the corner of mom's street. A good-looking elderly fellow who is often puttering about outside— polishing his car, tending his plants, or sweeping his little porch. I take notice. He dresses for comfort— a tee of some kind, plaid drawstring "dorm pants" (aka pajama bottoms), big white New Balance sneakers and a shacket or hoodie. I told mom she should make a play for him because he's obviously not married dressed like that. She's not taking the bait.

The PICC is out so no more daily schleps to mom's for medication management. Yay! I did get roped into making her an appointment for a dental cleaning; I wanted to speak to the ID doc for guidance of antibiotic prophylaxis for TAVR first. She also wanted me to get her derm appointment rescheduled so we could discuss her thinning hair— they are squeezing her in with a 9am appointment like this is some sort of an emergency. Ugh. I hate early mornings.
Mom said it was great they can see her sooner as she has impetigo as well. I said "wait. what?" Aside from the drama of her creating a new condition requiring attention, how on earth could a woman who has been on powerful IV antibiotics going to have a bacterial skin infection is beyond me. I made her show me said lesion— it's a little healing scab with flaky skin around it. I pulled out her iPad, pulled up images and made her look at them.
DH has a stress test at 11am. He wants me to drive him. The nurse didn't say anything about needing a driver but how can I say no to this ridiculousness?

Morning, we just had a severe storm go through It as moving at 75 mph so didn't last long. Darwin just called and they're pout of power. I called the electric. coop and they said there is a power outage in our area and they were working on it. We have a generator so I didn't know. We're in the bedroom onnTBE south side of the house with the door c!osed so can't hear the generator. Another round of severe weather is due this afternoon
For the life of me I can't figure out the car thing. We're a quarter mile off the main road So can't imagine somehow walking up here. Odd that the wiper blades were at full mast on the windshield because I hadn't used them that day. You have to have your foot on the brake for it to start, too, Carl, and you just push a button to start it. I can't put it in gear without the motor running. The PU is parked next to it with the keys inside so if someone was meddling why not take the PU? Haven't even told Darwin about the car or he would be up here to get it started. I think I will have to leave the charger on it for a few hours or drive it to charge the battery and can't do that if the road is flooded.
We were the bedroom With door closed so Stormy couldn't hear the driveway alarm. When it goes off he goes ballistic. Really weird goings on. I'm not going to try to geT it started until the weather improves. I know the road down by the mailbox is flooded and really don't care to have a big truck on my road after spending so much on it.But crumb cakes are to be delivered today so FedEx or UPS will be on it anyway.
HB, I am so glad I went up to check on the cow and her baby. The mom wasn't upset not was the baby but would have been before long. The baby started going the wrong way between the fences so don't know if there's an opening that direction for him to get out. I will have to close the place where the baby went in. I hope they don't feed today to pull all the cattle back up there.
Carl, times gave changed. I can remember when we never locked our doors, even when we went to town or at night. I do lock up at night now.
Maybe I should order that pair of Skechers today before they go up in price. Did get a couple of extra avocados and bananas day before yesterday. I.scrambled six eggs that were pretty.old for the GPs yesterday. They loved them. If I.boil them Stormy will only eat the yolks but he ate all of the scrambled ones. Guess I.better get out of bed and feed the.birds. Watch out for storms today.

Just heard 5his; because of the high price of eggs, people are dying potatoes instead of eggs for Easter.
1 -
HB, I know how you feel. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" all day long.
Easter potatoes! What next, Easter turnips?
It's 16 days until Easter. We're having thunderstorms here this morning, possible tornadoes tonight. I asked the Easter Bunny about the weather for Easter, he said he's hoptimistic about it.

Carl, wishing you a very happy birthday!

Off to get Bluetooth going so DH can Zoom while I drive us (him) to PT!! Back later to catch up.
Raining buckets right now.

That lump is back on DW's leg, and she threw up this morning, so I'm taking her back to the doctor. Sounds like several of us are driving around in the rain today. Too bad we don't all use the same clinic, I'd bring a deck of cards for the waiting room.

I’m at the cardiology center now. The people here are so LOUD!
I was trying to watch videos with earbuds and can barely hear over the loud talkers.

Lorita…if you leave your car key and your med alert together by the front door you will remember both
