Morning, David, prayers going up from here that your wife gets better and doesn't need surgery.

It started raining about 4 and looks like it will rain most of day, then again tomorrow, and it's only in the 40s with a north wind. Can't tell how much rain we have but there's water everywhere and the big pond is brimmin' full, May be running over. UPS will not make it todsy. Darwin said only one vehicle had been down his road yesterday and that was our mailcarrier. I woke up about 7 and watched TV and stayed in bed until about 9. Cats started settling the doorknob or I might have stayed longer.

HB, since you took the covid shot last fall, do you need a booster? Hope your mom is doing better today. Sandy, do enjoyed our visit last night. I think I found the Skechers you got, really pretty. They had a Skechers show on QVC this morning but only saw the last ten minutes. They had a pair of knit mules encrusted with rhinestones. I'm with you, I don't think I would like the knit ones as well as something more substantial. Hope you enjoy your new shoes.

Carl, I also hope your wife is better today. Ron, glad you're up and at 'em this morning.

Everyone, enjoy the day and be careful.. This is Charles' birthday. He would have been 93. So memories will be on my mind today.

Good morning. David, I prayed for your wife and I hope she will be doing better soon.

Gothic Gremlin, Carl told me that you had posted about falls. I got you confused with harshedbuzz. Both of you post informative links about health. For some reason, I sometimes trip when I wear my Clark's shoes, apparently I don't lift my feet enough when I walk. Fortunately, no falls.

I got Tdap booster yesterday in anticipation of my next trip. Fortunately, I did not need to reimmunize against polio, hepatitis A, typhoid or yellow fever. I also got a prescription for anti-malaria pills.

Lorita, it's nice that you have so many good memories of Charles.

David hope conservative treatment works for wife and surgery not needed. Glad you are in a safe place and she doesn't have to worry about you.

It sounds like several of our porch family / extended family are having some health issues. That is just never good. Praying everyone is on the mend.

I have been quite productive this morning. I pickup up an order at Sam's, then picked up an order at Wal-Mart and guess what, then picked up an order at Kroger. My car was full and overflowing with stuff. I need to do a pickup at Sprouts next week then I think we'll be set at least for a while. Of course I'll have to pick up some things, but the big things I'll have on hand for awhile.

We had a gully washer during the night, so much rain. Now its spitting rain and 50 degrees. Frankly I'll take it since it washed away all the yellow pollen. Its amazing how green the grass is turning.

My knee's (legs) have been really bothersome with all the temp changes. But I've got something else going on with my left ankle. I don't know if its associated with my vein disease or something else. With time its not getting better. Ugh.

Cool and damp our so beans and homemade cornbread for dinner. I ask DH if he'd like a salad - his response "with beans? Oh no." I guess I'll give him some cut up fruit for dessert.

Let's be safe everyone. Let the healing begin.

@Lorita my one pair of Sketchers are knit. They are every bit as supportive as a leather or canvas sneakers or oxfords.

David and Carl — I'm thinking about both of your wives today, and wish the best for both of them. Hoping your wife doesn't need surgery, David.

HB - I wished I could have gotten the Novavax booster but they didn't have it. I had no reaction to it when I had it — no lost days! I ended up getting Moderna, and more or less lost this last Thursday to it.

Zetta - I'd love to hear about your restoration yoga class.

Lorita - birthdays can be hard, but I hope you're able to remember all of the past good birthdays.

Iris — I sometimes do that - trip over my own feet. About anti-malaria drugs …. I don't know what you're going to be taking, but two friends of mine (they don't know each other) both took Lariam. Both went to different countries in Africa and were both told to take it. When they each got back, they both told me that they had seen ghosts. They both knew that they were hallucinations, but it was still a disconcerting experience for both of them. Their experiences with Lariam didn't affect their trips, it was just a thing they experienced. So in case you see a ghost ….

Today is going to be a reflective day for me as well. I'm at the one year anniversary of Peggy's funeral. Such a surreal thing to type. I made sure to have it at the same church where our parents always went, and where Peggy got married - in fact, the same priest was still there, so he knew all of us. Our 80's dance party after Peggy's funeral was a nice way to honor her. We even played "Good-bye to You" by Scandal at the end. One of her friends told me that they always sang that song last at their gigs way back in the day.

    Hello, Porch Friends

David. I'm so sorry to hear about your DW, you both are in my prayers 🙏

GG. I really liked yoga, I used muscles I never thought I had. My DD and I will be going twice a week.

HB. The restoration class was very relaxing. This week end I'm working on poses I found hard. It hurt me, when I tried to lay flat on my back on the floor. The muscles in my lower back seem very tight. I have been laying on the floor at home, it hurts but it's getting easier. We are going to do two classes a week. One will be basic yoga, then the restoration, class. I hope your DM, is getting better, it has been years, since I have heard the word, impetigo, I thought that was a long gone thing. I'm surprised you're mom, remembered that word. Dinner in the city, sounds yummy 😋

Carl. How is your DW? What is that lump, that keeps popping it. I imagine that might be what's causing her to throw up.

Lorita. Please be safe from those, storms and tornadoes. I would think if someone was in your driveway, trying to start your car, your GPs would have heard them. I hope your not worried about that. 🙏

    Take care all, Hugs Zetta

It's. As cold as kraut here today -'46 with a stiff north wind and cloudy. Ponds are running over. Darwin has a creek that runs through his land and he said he doesn't remember it ever being this high. I know the road is flooded.

Someone was on the road because the girls were in the garden area south of the house, heard a truck probably and ran down north, then it must have gone south up to where they feed because they came back through and ran up there. All of that for nothing. I have been trying to see the newest baby. Saw the mom but not the two together. She doesn't seem worried so guess baby is okay.

Zetta, they would have heard it if someone was out there with the car. Stormy can hear a pin drop outside. It's a mystery.

Iris, remind me where you're going. I know you have told us but I don't remember. When are you leaving?

Today hasn't been too bad. I dreamed a good dream, as always, of Charles last night so we were together.

David and Carl, hope your wives are better today.

Forgot to mention we had had about 4.75" of rain with more to come tonight and tomorrow along with some snow! Going to be in the mid 80s end of next week. Oklahoma Spring for sure.

Thank you all for asking, it appears DW has an "early infection" and constipation, so she is on antibiotics, probiotics to counter the ill effects of the antibiotics, and Miralax. She isn't eating well and has lost five pounds in the past month, so I am mixing the Miralax in Boost. I have to coax her to eat scrambled eggs, toast, mixed fresh fruit, and avocado slices, which are things she really likes. And she has a cold, so I put her to bed early. The head CT showed nothing new, brain shrinkage consistent with Alzheimer's and some chronic microvascular disease. I guess she'll recover, except of course for the Alzheimer's.

Lorita and GG, I'm sorry for the deaths of your LOs.

HB and David, I am adding your LOs to my prayers. Hospital is never good.

Lots of rain here, thunder and lightning. I had to detour going to the clinic yesterday because my usual street was flooded. It is worse east and south of here, where small towns have rivers running down Main Street deep enough to bury parked cars to the roof line. The train track is washed out at West Plains, so the railroad workers are hip-deep in mud trying to repair it in 40 degree rain. I saw some men digging a grave in the hilltop cemetery in the rain yesterday, there's a gloomy job!

The redbud trees are beautiful this time of year. They line the edges of the woods in many places in SW Missouri.

Iris, the lump is on the front of the thigh, near the groin. We don't know if it is an infected lymph node or what, but we are treating it with the same antibiotic to which it responded before. If it doesn't respond again, or if it comes back a third time, I am going to demand something else.

Have a great trip to Kenya. I've read books about Kenya, and seen movies, and it looks like a wonderful place.

Iris, how or why did you decide to go to Kenya? What a wonderful trip it will be. Maybe you'll get to see elephants in the wild. I think baby elephants are so cute. How long will you be gone?

Carl, I hope the antibiotics work for your wife.

    Good night, everyone. Sleep tight.

    Thank you, Lorita. Sleep tight.

Well, there I was today on a windswept hilltop, pumping gas into old Max on a cloudy, rainy, 40 degree day with a 25 mph wind whipping up my coattails. If I were half as smart as Mama told people I was, I would find a better place to buy fuel in cold weather. Or buy an electric car and charge it in the garage while I sleep.

David, I hope that is what the CT scan shows. Prayers for that outcome Carl, in our part of the Country we can't get away from the wind except in a heat spell and then it's just.hot \wind.

Not feeling too well this morning. Woke up about 5 and chest was hurting. I think it wss the costo because I was on my left side. Slept in or stayed in bed until almost 10, a little better now after some tea and toast.

No rain or snow here but it wss 40. Cloudy. I doubt trash truck will run so won't take down trash. UPS didn't deliver Friday or Saturday so guess road was flooded. Hope everyone is okay today.
