Jerilynn— If you were closer, it'd be a deal. FTR, I tend to start out super organized in my own closet, too, but DH brings laundry up from the basement with nary a care about such things, so it requires maintenance often. Whenever I get it sorted I am always gobsmacked by the number of white, black and gray things I own. Maybe mom's right— I should add a little color to my wardrobe. LOL, when I do, she runs out to Talbot's and buys herself an exact copy. I was kind of surprised yesterday at just how many things I hung at her place that also hang at mine. Fortunately, DH stays out of all but my sock drawer which is great except that I have 4 places for socks. Loafer lines in one drawer, crews/trousers in another, no-show athletics in a third and compression in with my workout clothes. He only knows about the crew sock drawer.

eagle— please be extra careful. When a person gets stung by a wasp, hornet, etc. you are scent-marked as an enemy and more at risk of being stung according to a friend who majored in insects. This can last a year or two.

Mom's doing great. 91% on room air while puttering about the house.

It's DH and DS's turn to make me crazy. I made a Costco, Walmart, dairy store run today. DH called to tell me the heater tech showed up and I'm thinking why is this important to me? Waiting on the heater repair is your job. And also, this could have been a text, dude. Twenty minutes later he calls and asks me if I know when the air scrubber's filter was replaced because the tech wants to know. I said I thought in the last year or two but wasn't sure. He said the tech wanted to talk to me and put me on the phone. I told the guy it had been done but I can't say when exactly and then I asked him if the office didn't have a service record on it and he said he could look it up on his tablet. So, this clown could have basically looked it up from the basement but opted not to and when posed the query to DH the pair of them thought "call Harshed" was the correct answer. My DH is allegedly very intelligent. MIT thought highly enough of him to award him a PhD and yet he's got to consult me on anything house related.

My niece always says that DH is so devoted to me that if anything were to happen to me, he'd perish within the year. I told her he'd be dead in less than 3 months as he has no idea where his cardiac medications come from. I know he needs a refill because I find the bottles on my desk.

I didn't even make it out of Walmart, where I bought 4 items for mom. Three packages of hangers (because she has too many clothes and cheap paper towels because she keeps whinging that her cleaner is taking 1/2 a roll home when she comes. This may be the world's most ridiculous "First World Problem" at the moment. The women is reliable, pleasant and does a wonderful job; I've told mom to consider the paper towels as part of the fee but that doesn't speak to her. I've taken to supplying mom with smaller rolls (that cost as much each as the larger Kirkland ones) which seems to have done the trick) DS's phones are acting up. The dying one that was on Mint is receiving both phone calls and some texts. He can dial out and receive texts on the new Verizon store. He tried to contact the guys at Best Buy who set it up for him— spending for the activation in-store— but the customer service rep wouldn't put the call through and kept saying to call Verizon. She hung up on him. He's at Verizon in town now. I do hope they can sort this out. At least he's not melting down and even said he didn't need me along. So yay?

You all really do have quite a lot going on. After my two week bout with whooping cough, I am finally able to take a breather and work on unpacking from my trip. I also have to read up on my voting materials because here in CA we have a lot of propositions to vote on. So far, the weather is nice, in the 80s yesterday, no rain in sight.

Beth, the bedroom tv was ruined several months ago when the electric lines from two companies got together several miles north.of us. Burned out several things. A neighbor had some kind of electric bed and it was ruined. .THE LR tv has had problems, sound wouldn't adjust, four bright spots on the screen and now no picture. I ordered two new ones this morning and they're sitting on the porch right now. I'm going to let the guy from direct get them out of the box and put on the feet. I did the last one and had a hard time doing it.

It is a beautiful cool, calm day. Just talked with Toad and he said he had cut open five persimmon seeds and all of them had spoons in them. That means lots of cold weather and snow. Also his dad's mules are putting on a heavy coat which also means a cold winter. No corn around to check the shucks and haven't seen any wooly worms. He called to tell me.not to worry if I heard a lot of gunshots tonight because he was going to get rid of a lot of beavers on the section east of us. Hate that but they're building their dens in the pond dams. He has been clearing trees and said when he would come back the next morning the beavers had cut off a lot of li!be to build dens. We have never had heavens but used to have muskrats in the pond. Time to go, think I might take a short nap. Carrying that tv in from the car wore me out and girls probably need water, too.

Just waiting for the Great Grand kids to come for Trick or Treat. We live in Salem Mass but in October we do not go down town. The tourists run the town . Salem has about 40,000 residents during October it explodes to over 100,000.

No trick or treaters here tonight. Mike came and gave Stormy and Sheena their allergy shots and left prednisone and pain pills for their arthritis. Stormy always acts up, like he's scared of Mike, guess it's the needle. We came back in the.house and.both it's f them hàve been sound asleep. it's just like a switch has been turned off.

I've been watching the Incredible Dr. Pol on Frevee. I didn't realize how much I had missed watching him. JeriLynn, do you ever watch Dr. Pol? As much as you love animals I.bet you would enjoy it.

I'm about ready for bed. Carrying that tv did a number on me. See you all tomorrow.

JeriLynne, I hope everyone is getting vaccinated! Pertussis is a bad disease, and it can be fatal in babies and frail older adults. I'm lucky I'm not frail, because I was very sick and worn out from heavy coughing and expectorant, no sleep at night from coughing.

My TV now has a good picture. Wonder what is going on with it? May.postpone Direct tomorrow and see what happens. I turned it off and on today but no picture. Guess I may watch some MSNBC before bedtime.

Iris, so glad you're feeling better. Take it easy. I haven't planned on taking that vaccine because I'm not around many.people and am still wearing a mask.

Iris, DH and I both are vaccinated. It's the only vax he will take and that is because we were going to a child's birthday party with a new baby and I INSISTED he must take the shot. He's never had any vax as an adult. So that was a victory. I'm still "needling" him about a flu vax. No luck so far.

Lorita, I do like Dr. Pol. Don't see much of him because DH likes to watch Mountain Men.

So far, so good with the new stove. I've baked a quiche and yesterday made cabbage, smoked sausage and onion on the stove top. I really like the "simmer" setting as it goes to a really low flame. Going to fix a pot of navy beans and ham today. That's the true test for me… we love a good pot of beans, lol. I haven't used the oven steam function yet. Ordering a protective mat for the stovetop today.

Still culling and cleaning closets. Ordered two small, rechargeable battery-operated table lamps today for the living room. When I built this house, I wasn't smart enough to have outlets placed in the floor so we could have lamps. Oh well. And now that I have spent a ton on a new stove and opening the Estate, the RV needs a new AC unit. Deep sigh.

Good morning all. I slept for nine hours last night and finally feel almost human.

Halloween was a mixed bag this year. My neighborhood runs hot and cold; historically the headcount has varied between 11 and 132. The 132 was the 3rd year after the house was built when the folks still lived here. They got home later than expected without candy, so dad handed out fill-sized bags of Goldfish and Milano cookies that were headed for the thrift store because of a short sell-by date. That was very popular. We had <33 kids (a couple cheeky littles took more than one) very early in the evening with the oldest being about 8 years old. Not a single tween or teen which is odd. We're in the back of a cul de sac and despite handing out full-sized bars we don't get much traffic. My community has a section of townhouses where kids can get a lot of candy without a lot of walking. My BFF is very into Halloween. Her yard decor is legendary and she makes a thing out of getting the candy. Last years she built a chute with a handle. This year, kids spun a wheel for cash, candy or a trick. The trick was a package of ramen which the kids enjoyed. So weird. She had almost 150 kids last I heard.

Iris— I'm glad you're feeling a little better. Good on you for preparing to vote. The language in the propositions can be very nuanced.

Lorita— Do you have your TVs plugged into surge protectors? A surge protector could prevent damage in a scenario like the one that destroyed your bedroom TV. We have both TVs (and accessories), my computer and the HVAC system on them.

David— I hear you on Salem. My aunt used to live there. She loved the festive atmosphere when she first moved in the mid 1980s and even got into spiritualism, but things got crazy over the years and she took to traveling the last 2 weeks of October to escape the chaos. She moved to Milton a couple years back.

Jerilynn— I feel like we're bleeding money here, too. A new clutch for the Miata, a significant HVAC repair and next month a crown, finally, for my implant.

I'm glad the range is working out. Sometimes when I need a longtime gentle simmer, I toss the pot in the oven a 215F which works nicely. I have a soup that needs a 10-12 simmer and I always finish that in the oven.

I hope all have a pleasant day.

Morning, I have one tv and a few other things on surge protectors but not that tv. I need to get a whole house protector.

Direct v is coming today to hook up things. If I used the receivers I have they would charge for the trip and couldn't come today. I want tv reception for the election. I don't want to upgrade and don't want to learn something new. Too much technology for me. I will likely change to Dish soon. Iris, don't try to do too much.

JeriLynn, if I can remember I want to soak butter beans overnight. Keep forgetting. Glad you are liking your new stove.

It's chilly here this morning but sunny. Weatherman says we could get up to 7" of rain during the next few days. Some ponds are going dry and others are low. Ours are ok so far. GPs slept well all night.

I use surge protectors on certain devices but for my TV's, computers and cable boxes I use UPS's (Universal Power Supplies).

Judith, waiting for your ballot? Just got mine.notarized and mailed. Vacilitated about doing it but decided it was too important to not do it. It won't count in my State but I can feel I voted my.conscienNce. Would not have felt right if I hadn't mailed it.

It misted rain on me going and while in town but nothing right now. Saw Bryon and T at Casey's while we were getting gas.. We talked about whether he would come because of the rain.

While I was in town a little green car would come on on the instrument panel, then go off. No idea what it was - never saw it before. Got home and checked the book and the little green car shows up when a car is ahead of you! How about that!

Stormy and Sheena were so.glad when I got home, me too.
