Thank you for your willingness to share I have just joined alzconnected and my husband was diagnosed about 2 years ago. He is physically doing well, he does recognize that he has alzheimers, however, does not think that it affects him as deeply as it does. I am definitely interested in reading about your journey. I find myself depressed and overwhelmed pretty regularly and sad because I miss my loving husband. Thank you in advance.4

Thank you for writing. I have been working with elderly for many years. Some of my patients had Alzheimer's. My father got diagnosed with it few years ago. I just moved into his house few months ago. Looking for more knowledge and support. More difficult since it's my dad vs a patient. Plus I didn't see them in the different stages.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but writing is a great way to help. I am a published author and wanted to make a simple suggestion for an easy way to share your book with others - You can put it online on Google Docs and then share the link rather than sending the whole thing via email.
Again, my deepest sympathies for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. My DW has been suffering for 4+ years now. We’re at the end of the road. No treatments have worked and she has MDD, a gauntlet of meds anxiety and depression will not reside.

I would love to read your story. My husband was diagnosed at age 59. I kept him home with me until August of 2024. This disease is so horrible - you grieve for your loved one while they are still alive. My DH is currently in a memory care in a unit for those experiencing anxiety and aggression - he was always kind man so violence from him is very out of character. This Alzheimers road is long and very bumpy and my heart goes out to all the loved ones and caretakers. Caretaking is one of the hardest jobs in the world emotionally, mentally and physically. The guilt alone of putting your loved one in memory care is overwhelming.
