If you dealt with the disease alone how did you cope?
Hi, my mother is not under 65, but see is still young imo 70. I was just wondering if others younger went through family and friends abounding and leaving you to you own devices due to not wanting to deal with the issues of the disease? I am currently in the position of being my mothers sole caregiver and it is killing me.…

I recommend the following
I don’t like to recommend things that I can not prove. But after taking these for every long time they have been safe. I also believe they are helping along with the other drugs I take. No one will ever know if this combination works but I did a lot of studding and many do agree that there is some possibility. The ways I…

Wondering about resources pre-Alzheimer's diagnosis
I'm sure you're all ahead of me here, and I have to ask -- what's out there for people who may be in the MCI stage but don't know it? I ask because some of you know my (younger) sister was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. This happened in 2018. We were all shocked because as far as I know, AD doesn't run in our…

When is the right time for AL/MC?
My wife is 55 and was diagnosed 2+ years ago. She's stopped driving. Our relationship has gone to heck because we fight a lot. She drinks a ton (I had to lock all the alcohol in my home office), and she gets very argumentative. The woman I loved is gone. Not a lot of love left on my side. Thanksgiving was a challenge. She…

Worried Relative May Have Dementia
I just read an article that states that shaky handwriting can be an early indicator of Alzheimer's/dementia. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is shaky handwriting something that should be of concern? I ask because I just noticed that my 55 y/o uncle's handwriting has changed significantly over the last several…

Reverting back to MCI
I was diagnosed with amnestic MCI in 2016. I had annual neuropsychological testing every year confirming my diagnosis. In mid 2019, my testing showed I was no longer considered to have MCI and had reverted back to normal cognition. I have only found limited information on reverting back to MCI, but some studies have shown…

I give up!
Not really. Well, sort of, kind of. The house is falling apart and the latest is both the upstairs and downstairs A/C units have stopped working. I'm hot, frustrated and tired. I had a crew come out two weeks ago to fix the upstairs unit and they were very nice etc. but never came back to work on the unit. Now, the…

It's a shame that one can NO longer trust the government for our health
I can not understand why COVID has become so controversial and political. I use to trust them and now one is left fending for themselves. 47yr old FTD and TERRIFIED
Hello. I'm new here. My name is Stacie. I'm 47 and was diagnosed FTD in 2017 following an injury sustained during routine brain surgery for VP Shunt placement in 2007. I noticed signs of declination in cognition then but for the most part symptoms were minor until the last year. Now, I am very embarrassed to admit that I…

Memory Care for Early Onset
My wife is a healthy 69 year old with early onset dementia. I am looking for some kind of supervised assisted living that is not just full of 80 yr old patients. I have nothing against 80 yr olds, my mother is 92, but I don't think it would be beneficial for my wife. Any ideas?

Transmissibility of some types of dementia?
