Parents need different levels of care
Does anyone have experience with parents needing different levels of care? Mom needs MC and SD needs assisted living but I’d like to keep them together.

Feeding mom
My mom is in her 5th year. It's becoming so hard to figure out what she likes to eat. She used to eat fruits and vegetables, not much meat. Now it's a pancake for breakfast, cake mixed with pudding & cool whip & ice cream for dinner. She's lost a lot of weight so not worried about that & we have her blood work done & all…

Trying to fit cleaning around people who are always around
I posted another message about being glad my FIL with dementia is finally living with us. I am. Very much so. It has been challenging to complete my household chores with my spouse working from home. Now that my FIL is here too, I'm needing to adjust my cleaning routines and not succeeding. One crinkle in the issue is that…

Freezing cold to terribly hot
My mother with dementia for 4 years is progressing rapidly through the middle stages of Alzheimers, now she is exhibiting behaviors related to Sundowning that include hot/cold flashes. She'll scream "I'm freezing, I'm cold, I'm miserable, I can't stand it!" so I'll cover her up, but a beanie on her head, turn on a little…

FIL finally permanently in my household
We moved early November 2020 near my FIL so that he could more easily live with us, not having to leave his familiar area where he's lived for many many years. Before that, my spouse and his brother had been switching off staying with him in his home (since July 2020) However, after we had somewhat settled in, my FIL did…

After you lose your LO, it feels like, now what? What do I do? What do I do with myself, my dad, life? I feel a bit lost now. There…

Obsessions(1)
I know PWD often become obsessed with things, which causes them stress, and so we try to avoid the thing that is causing them stress. Usually it's something like a phone or some other mechanical object, and usually the fix is to remove the item. Our problem is that my sister is obsessed with her cat. She's convinced the…
