We placed my Dad in a nursing home after he became a wandering and fall risk and was combative with in home caregivers. We later realized we…

My mom has come to live with me temporarily until we can find a more permanent solution. We lost my Dad, her husband and my brother within a month of each other. I have another sibling who chooses not to be involved and I am left holding the bag. The original agreement was that we would take mom (who is diagnosed with Lewy…

The doctor said it’s time to call in hospice
It’s been a rough few weeks. My mil has taken a pretty dramatic decline. Waiting on UA results. We saw the dr today. He told me that it’s time to call hospice. We got home and she brought out her favorite dress she keeps in a bag and told me that it’s for when she dies. I was able to video chat with my best friends that…

My stepmother has alzheimers and my dad seems to be overwhelmed
I'm not sure exactly what year my stepmother was diagnosed with early stage alzheimers. I was in the military, eventually got out and went to work for federal government, so I've only seen my parents on holidays or vacation. I came home one week in 2019 and noticed that she kept telling me the same story every 5 or so…

How do you handle it when your loved one has dementia related audio hallucinations? My dad is convinced there are people who want to kill him at the memory care facility he lives at. Seeking advice from experiences of moving to AL or MC
My able bodied father lives at home to care for my mother in Stage 6 Alzheimer’s...they have lived in this house for 21 years. How to validate mom's hoarding?

So tired(1)
My dad died in 2015 of Alz. My husband died in 2018 of FTD. And now my mom is in the grip of dementia. I am emotionally exhausted. Not so much from the caregiving, but from watching people I love go through this torment. Sometimes it is so sad and overwhelming that I just want her to die. Wondering where God’s mercy is.
