Need Advice, My aunt is becoming incontinent of bowel.
Hi all, in the morning I am beginning to wake up to my aunts sheets being covered in feces. She’s defecating on herself while she is in bed, she removes her disposable brief and places it in the trash or sometimes the commode and it seems like she just poops away. Any suggestions? Has anyone experienced this?

old newspapers
My dad is in late middle stages. Sometimes he is within 10 years of now sometimes he is back in his late 20's-30's. When going through some of his boxes I found a bunch of old newspapers, sports sections only. He used to save them. Should I take them to him to look at or would that confuse him even more?

We believe he is ~mid stage Alzheimer’s, but we live rural and with COVID it has taken months to get referrals and appointments. Hopefully…

neurologist/sundowners
My step father has been in AL/MC for about a year and a half. He is experiencing sundowners now and feels he needs to go home. Right before covid happened his neurologist appt. had to be cancelled and he hasn't been back. To be honest other than the meds I wasn't sure he needed to go anymore. It didn't help that the doctor…

Outings from MC
Mom has been in MC for about a month now and was basically homebound for months before that due to not driving + Covid. She seems to finally be settling into the MCF a bit and I'm hoping will be reasonably comfortable within another month or two. Looking ahead, as things are opening up and might be closer to normal over…

My mom has mid stage ALZ and my dad has recently dealt with his own issues related to cancer and now the effects of a esophajectomy. He has zero patience for my mom, forgetting to give her meds, and continues to think they can continue without help. I feel like I’m being bounced around trying to get them help in their…

It has been a month since last shower and I need fresh ideas please! Thank you.

Question on getting help
Hi all, It's been a while since I posted, but I have a dilemma I would love to have some input on. My mom’s schedule has changed to where she is staying in bed until about 12pm even though I start waking her at 10:30 am. By the time she gets dressed, goes potty, etc. she does not come out from her room until 1, she won’t…

New tablet for LO has really helped us, may help you
We all know there can be bumps in the road when it comes to technology and our LOs, especially when they are in AL/MC and visitation is restricted. Our caregiver recommended we buy my mom a Grandpad, which is like a very simplified iPad. I have an app I can use to upload photos to it, call her on it, video call, or text…

Combative about hygiene
I am taking care of my husband full time and alone since August, when I retired. He was diagnosed with early-onset Alzhemer's in 2014. I don't know stages--what I know is he is healthy and very very very active all day, walking and talking and moving things around the house. He is unable to communicate (though he talks a…

I am considering moving my grandparents closer to me and would love your insight and advice. My grandma is my grandpa's caregiver. She recently told me that she would like to move to be…

Word salad and hot flashes
My LO has random episodes of speaking where the words don’t go together and we have no idea what she is trying to communicate. We have also noticed a lot of the time she will also say that she is hot and take her jacket or top layer off to get cooler. She comes out of it and doesn’t remain feeling warm/hot. She hasn’t had…

Noises

Hello, I am a 21 year old college student also working full time. Last fall I moved in with my great grandmother to help my grandparents take care of her. Assisted Living dental care
Hello. My Mom is 91 and in an AL facility. I have to handle her bills and stuff as DPOA and health care proxy. She was diagnosed about a year ago with dementia and we had to do the best we could for her before the stress killed us all. The place is very nice but we are depleting her life savings pretty quick after a year…

Crucial communication
My mom 94 was just placed in memory care 2 weeks ago. The facility actually moved her without letting me know for 24 hours! Need to tell what's going on before I go insane
Hello All,I'm new, name is Jamark. I have to tell someone what's going on else I don't know how much longer I would be here. I've loved mom since I first knew her. She'd cry, I would cry. New member, mom has something similar to undiagnosed Vascular Dementia
Just joined out of desperation... I'm a med-surg RN with plentiful experience with dementia, having worked in a memory-care facility and as a nurse in a hospital who deals with various dementias routinely. My mother had a TIA a few years ago, and I believe another verifieable one in December 2020 (she refused to go to the…

I'm looking for a GI doctor recommendation in the DE, MD, OR SE PA area. My mom needs a procedure and we're nervous about the anesthesia as she saw a steep decline after a mastectomy in 2018.
